Wiping Cache and dalvik X3 (as specified), btw I havent done the ruu, my computer is still messed up, but im hoping a fresh ROM might change that... And when i flash anthrax I let it sit for 10mins and when i check the "About Phone" it gives me the stock kernel name.... On the Anthrax page it said to use the other recovery instead... Is that true?
Sounds like you don't have the right version of the kernel. This is the file name of the kernel I am using "SUPERSONIC-SENSE-AnthraX-2.6.38.8-REV_zzzTESTzzz009" works like a charm for me

Re: Use of non-gpl kernels
These kernels may contain restricted source released to me under a Non Disclosure Agreement
that states I have no legal right or obligation to release, post, or publish source code
for any reason at any time. This same policy holds true to HTC as well, and as posted on
their site: ( bottom of HTCdev Resources - General FAQs )
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why has not HTC released the source code for some drivers?
HTC will release source code in accordance with any applicable open source license terms, i.e. GPL v2.0.
Other source codes, which are not required to be disclosed by the open source license terms, unfortunately
cannot be disclosed by HTC as they may be proprietary to HTC or its licensor.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This means HTC themselves may not even release some of the code contained in their kernels.
The NDA holds more power than GPL. In the past I have posted old and outdated source code to basically shut people up.
This caused all kinds of drama on XDA. Some of the people who were involved in this drama have not followed GPL since the
release of their kernel, and this seems to be OK for xda, as I have talked to a few XDA MODs about it, and their product,
thread, and GIT remain as is. One mod even told me what they posted is ok.
Since I want to follow XDA rules, the kernels in this folder are not to be discussed on XDA. If you found this folder from
XDA, keep in mind these kernels are for people who were linked here from sites other than XDA, so XDA users may only use
them for educational and test use only. If you found this folder on your own, or outside of XDA, feel free to use the kernels
contained in this folder in any way you see fit.
Since XDA users are not really authorized to use these kernels, please do not discuss them on XDA at any time, for any reason.
Feel free to email me or post on my thread located at InfectedROM Android Community Forums - Infected Main
Failure to follow my requests will result in this folder being password protected, and only a select few will be given access.
Thank You.

Current EVO 4G ROM suggestions:

Liking this ROM so far, but I'm having one incessant problem with just one app. I have a particular social networking app (not Facebook, BTW) that force close crashes every time I try to open it. I've uninstalled it and re-installed it, wiped cache/Dalvik, but it doesn't matter. Every time I open it I get the message telling me the process crashed and it has to force close.
I guess my question was how are you using Blendr? Is it a standalone app? On the blendr website I dont see any reference to a version available for Android. Only iPhone and through facebook
I have a very green beta copy of the Android app from a developer friend of mine. I'm not going to worry about it because of this. I did err, though--I have another such social app that is giving me the same problem, and it is certainly not a beta version. It's an established app, but I won't reveal it here.
When I was using Warm2.2, I remember having an app called "Rosie Settings" that allowed me to change my Rosie's. I don't recall off the top of my head if it was a zip I flashed, but I do know for a fact that it was an app I had, because I went to my app list and clicked on it there.
Hey, when using that zip Superwipe, after it's flashed, must one power down the phone completely immediately following the flash? I ask because I read somewhere that this little tool requires a complete power down; otherwise one is forced to do a battery pull.

nope the superwipe is a combination of calkulins formats all .zip and calkulins clear temp zip and does them 3 times. it does not require that you power off after flashing it. not sure where you read that. i would do your wipes (minimum of dalvik cache, cache, and data) then flash the superwipe then flash the rom all in one recovery session. no need to reboot.

NoLimit, Very nice rom. It is very slim.
Flashed it into BM with no problems. I do have one question though. How do I install the Gtalk? Do I need to flash in that file from the OP or does it get dropped into a folder?

To elaborate a little more the gtalk.zip file uploaded by nolimit is not a flashable zip it doesnt have the scripts. what you have to do is extract the gtalk app from the zip and open the Roms zip. drop the apk in the system/app folder before flashing the rom. Nolimit ya might want to put that somewhere in the description so people don't try to just flash it or you can make it a flashable zip

If it was flashable that would be sweet.
But a great Rom either way. I can go a day or two with out Gtalk.
So again I flashed this last night and set it up a little bit. Then I flashed Myn Warm 2.2 Froyo rom and left that on over night. Then this morning I booted to the phone Rom (MikG 3.0) and then into NoLimit06. Once that was up I plugged in the charger to top it off and went out for the day.
I do have an extended battery but I'm not sure how large it is. It was advertised as an HTC 2150 mah but it's the exact same size as the Sprint 2600. So someone must be wrong.
Here are some Screenshots of my battery life.
A very simple home screen
Battery use
I used Pandora almost all day. It said it ran for 6 1/2 hours.
The battery time and up time are different by 30 minutes which is how long it was on the charger this morning.
So just about 8 full hours of awake time and that included my SMS backup app running for a full 70 minutes for no reason. Not sure why it locked itself on.
And about 55 minutes of display on time. plus about 15 minutes of phone calls.
A great Rom. I've never had that good of a battery life doing all of that in one day.
Thanks again for sharing it with the community!

Edit: I'm running the same Kernel on this as I am on Mik3.0
And sorry for the photo size. I uploaded to Image shack for a 15" monitor

Well, I tried putting the Gtalk zip into the correct folder of the rom but it must have been wrong because when I tried to flash it again I had an error in BM making the Boot IMG.
I almost was going to get crazy and try putting Tommies tweaks into it that he linked in the XDA thread but I figured one thing at a time.
Still a great Rom though.
Thanks again and as everyone tells everyone that puts a Rom up, "I look forward to the next update". No pressure of course.
Here is a preview of the next update, it will have a new Rosie with LaunchKey support for the right button. I have updated the nifty conniptions to the new legit zip and I am looking for people to help me theme and get a new lockscreen together. I am debating on when to release this as I would like to get a theme and lockscreen included so there are not so many updates. Any ways let me know what you think

Themeing isn't that bad really, the only really hard part is finding the text colors in the .xml files and switching them out. Xtremedays and Nick1313 are the gurus for themeing around these parts now. I know enough to make me dangerous, but I just can't seem to find enough time to really complete my training or any theme I start. Having a family, kids, jobs (yes that's plural for a reason ) just really gets in the way.
If you want any info on themeing I can get you the tutorials I used to get started. Just give me a holler!

Thanks that would be nice just shoot me a PM. The only things I can't figure our right now is how to change the default wallpaper. It's set to load the default HTC wallpaper and I hate it and it looks bad with the rosie I have.
Is anyone interested in helping me with a new lockscreen? I am looking at something similar to what is in the classic rom from tommy, just a smooth glass slide

Couldn't you just flash one of the modded lockscreens he has in his EVO Classic threads? They are all sense 1.0 so it'd be worth a shot. Tommy's a very nice guy, and I'm sure if it works and you asked you could include it to the ROM if you give props.
Unless your just looking for experience, I totally get that too.

I have tried and they don't work since his stuff is based on 4.54 and not 4.56, I sent him a PM and he said I could use them if I could get them to work but I don't want the "classic" logo on the slide.
Hey nolimit06, congrats on your first rom being so popular! I've read through this thread and the one over on the xda site. I think I'll give it a try this weekend.

I would read the two OP's of them.
The Team-Nocturnal seems to have some more mods but is also 209 Mb's in size.
It's supposed to have a stock feel though.
NoLimit's is 135Mb's and is very slimmed down. Great battery life and a few tweaks.
I haven't used TN's Rom but Nolimit's is very nice. I used Pandora for 3 1/2 hours today with a couple of calls, and 30 minutes of Screen on time. After 12 hours I had 44% of my extended battery still left.

Does it have an option to personalize that button? I have seen before where you have to set the option to personalize it first and then pick the app you want it to use.
I just flashed this rom again. I definitely like it so far. Is there any way to change the bottom thing (I have NO idea what it's called) back to the original [ ^ Phone + ] design?
Ah, the rosie? I have no idea how to do something like that. The first release I think had the Sense Rosie on it.
Personally I like the Launchkey version from this rom and also Tommies Launcher from his roms.
Naters
Rosie, that's what it's called. Yes. How would one change that back to the original? The launchkey version is okay except if I map the button to something else "Text Messages" doesn't go away (as stated in a previous post) and I wanted to have the regular messaging widget on the screen and not in two different places.
I'm back! Firstly, I LOVE THIS ROM! Why? Isn't it just stock Sense 1.0? Yes! But I like Sense 1.0, lol. Anywho. I really like this ROM better than Team Nocturnal's. I mainly got used to the battery decreasing every 1% instead of in increments of 10. The rosie was cool but the fact I couldn't change the words "text messages" bothered me so I just pushed the rosie from Team Nocturnal's and it's all good.
Quick light weight rom and great battery life either with the stock or aggressive (for me) freedom kernel.
