I thought this was exciting, so I thought I would post it here. Obviously not my work, but the OG is in the mix for the next Anthrax kernel, which works on AOSP/ICS/Sense 3.5. Whoa!
Again, this is just FYI for now...there is not a version for the OG Evo (Supersonic) available at this point. There is no file to download and flash, but I will update when it is.

On subject of Anthrax I "supposedly installed it" however I don't think it has installed. The setup shows everything went ok and says install from sd is now complete. (Yes I did all the normal wiping and all that jazz) However when I go to SetCPU it only gives me three opitons

I went to check the kernel version in about and this is what I get which I suspect is the standard kernel for the 4.6.7 I think was the latest OTA
ROM I'm on is TN Stock 4.6.7

Re: Use of non-gpl kernels
These kernels may contain restricted source released to me under a Non Disclosure Agreement
that states I have no legal right or obligation to release, post, or publish source code
for any reason at any time. This same policy holds true to HTC as well, and as posted on
their site: ( bottom of HTCdev Resources - General FAQs )
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why has not HTC released the source code for some drivers?
HTC will release source code in accordance with any applicable open source license terms, i.e. GPL v2.0.
Other source codes, which are not required to be disclosed by the open source license terms, unfortunately
cannot be disclosed by HTC as they may be proprietary to HTC or its licensor.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This means HTC themselves may not even release some of the code contained in their kernels.
The NDA holds more power than GPL. In the past I have posted old and outdated source code to basically shut people up.
This caused all kinds of drama on XDA. Some of the people who were involved in this drama have not followed GPL since the
release of their kernel, and this seems to be OK for xda, as I have talked to a few XDA MODs about it, and their product,
thread, and GIT remain as is. One mod even told me what they posted is ok.
Since I want to follow XDA rules, the kernels in this folder are not to be discussed on XDA. If you found this folder from
XDA, keep in mind these kernels are for people who were linked here from sites other than XDA, so XDA users may only use
them for educational and test use only. If you found this folder on your own, or outside of XDA, feel free to use the kernels
contained in this folder in any way you see fit.
Since XDA users are not really authorized to use these kernels, please do not discuss them on XDA at any time, for any reason.
Feel free to email me or post on my thread located at InfectedROM Android Community Forums - Infected Main
Failure to follow my requests will result in this folder being password protected, and only a select few will be given access.
Thank You.

By the way Chad left xda right after I posted. Check the link in the op. It's amazing how stupid and ridiculous people can be towards a guy doing this stuff for free. I support Chad 100%. I sent him a pm to see if he plans on continuing development and where we can follow for updates. I'll keep you guys posted. It's a real shame because his anthrax kernel is great.

I can't wait for this. I'm still running v4 and it's the best thing that's ever happened to my phone. and just because I'm a nerd and this makes me giddy, I left my phone at home yesterday on accident, so it hasn't been used basically at all, but look at home incredibly well its sleeping!
the two blank spots are overnight when I have tasker set to turn on airplane mode.

Any new updates on this? I know the thread over on Xda got axed, but has anyone heard anything else about progress? I have a feeling its NOT going to make it to Xda once released, so we gotta keep our eyes peeled elsewhere.

I'm assuming if he gets back around to working on the Evo, he may post on infectedrom, no?
(he seems to still actively post in the Evo 3D section over there).
Do you still plan on porting to the OG? The stuff on here has me drooling and I can't fathom having this goodness available on the OG. Glad to see you got away from the xda drama.

most of the features here are specific to 8x60 devices, and may not be enabled in the MECHA or SUPERSONIC devices, but for sure the following will be:
usb host mode, audio drivers, beats, custom RPC server, custom IO tweaks, CIFS, TUN, NTFS and EXT4 filesystem

THE GOOD:
after talking to my lawyer, who has been in contact with XDA's legal folks as well as htc, qualcomm, fsf, and moster audio
im in 100% compliance with GPL, and have been
THE BAD:
even though from a legal stand point i did nothing wrong - im still stuck with legal fees.
$3000 retainer for the 1st issue
2nd issue - i own $300 as of today - IF IN FACT charges do get filed and i need to goto court, im stuck with another $3000 retainer fee.
the retainer covers 10 hours of my layers time, if i exceed that, im stuck with an additional $3000... what I dont use, i get back.
SO:
to help me REDUCE legal fees (that i can not afford) in the future, the following changes will happen...
1) Im gonna ask V to make my threads only available to registered members of infectedrom.com - no anonymous views
2) Im gonna ask V to allow me access to the IP logs, so i can track WHO is downloading my kernels
3) i can not enforce this due to GPL - but i will ASK that people do not share my work with ANYONE... (for the 2 reasons above, mainly #2)
4) as i have done in the past, ALL source code that is licensed under GPL (basically everything BUT intellianthrax and beats) will be available upon request via a ISP based email, not hotmail or other free email services. GPL states I need to only make code available to people who use my software - so I will require the build info from the KERNEL INFO screen from your device. this also helps ensure you are given the CORRECT version of source to match what is installed on your device.
5) intellianthrax will become a .KO object, (as well as beats) and not part of zImage
6) zImage, beats and intellianthrax itself will be encrypted - tested this on the rezound, and it works..slows boot time a tad, but once booted - no performance degradation.
7) if zImage or any kernel object is modified in any way, the phone will force you into recovery -- this helps reduce issues due to bad downloads, or unauthorized tampering.
8) any more ****ing legal drama at all, and im done PERIOD - i can not afford the fees im already stuck with, let alone any additional ones
Looks like everyone needs to go register on InfectedROM if you arent already

Wow. All I can say is that sucks he has to go through any of this. I love this kernel and he definitely knows his shit. If these companies dont want their stuff shared or used, then don't make it part of an open source os.
