Ok I am going to give Mik V3 another chance after last time, the battery life being horrible. Last time, I never flashed a custom kernel, just used the stock. I know every kernel works different with each phone, but what is the general consensus for the best kernel for this rom?
I assume you're talking about mik3.0... I would try the freedom kernel. I used the agressive freedom kernel and the battery life wasn't that good, so try one of the less agressive kernels.
Let us know how it works out

Performance wise, the AnthraX kernel is above anything else that is available. It isnt as good battery wise, but its heads and shoulders above the other kernels available. Download Anthrax Here
For battery life, Aggressive freedom universal is king for me. It undervolts the kernel the most out of the freedom line, so it has the best battery life.

Did you give it time to settle in? Battery life after a fresh install is always pretty bad. Since Aggressive freedom has the most undervolting its battery life is better than the others in the freedom line. Problem is though, not all phones can handle undervolting. You want to find the limit that your phone can handle.

Current EVO 4G ROM suggestions:
Sense--TommyTomatoe's Evo Classic
AOSP-- Decks Reloaded
1) Stock (keep in mind, MikG does not include the newest stock kernel)
2) Anthrax (see above links, but I didn't realize they had public links of Anthrax anymore? I assume that those files have the Qualcomm/Beats source removed? He was ordered to take down those versions.
3) Freedom - Check the recent updates in the thread. Some devs are playing around with Lithid's source and there are actually a couple new versions. One has the SA2 governor and another adds support for swap (has to do with a2sd).
4) Chop Suey
5) Golden Monkey, which has not been updated in ages and I don't recommend, but some like it.
6) Poon Sense - I think this is basically the stock kernel with HDMI enabled. You can get it from Kernel Manager but not anywhere else as far as I know.
Since I want to follow XDA rules, the kernels in this folder are not to be discussed on XDA. If you found this folder from
XDA, keep in mind these kernels are for people who were linked here from sites other than XDA, so XDA users may only use
them for educational and test use only. If you found this folder on your own, or outside of XDA, feel free to use the kernels
contained in this folder in any way you see fit.
Since XDA users are not really authorized to use these kernels, please do not discuss them on XDA at any time, for any reason.
Feel free to email me or post on my thread located at InfectedROM Android Community Forums - Infected Main
Failure to follow my requests will result in this folder being password protected, and only a select few will be given access.
Thank You.
I assume that means its ok to link as not as we arent on XDA and you dont let XDA know its available. The letter is dated 1/19 which was way after all that drama.
Yeah but I don't think it was xda that forced him to take it down?. I could be wrong though. I thought there were legal issues from having the beats source included.

Yeah, but the truth is my battery life always suffers no matter what combo I try, cause I refuse to do all the things that save battery. I guess that makes my advice biased. I love having my screen brightness set at 100%, and my screen stays on... everything is set for max performance and crappy battery life.

Yeah thats what I thought too.
I'm not sure why the links are up. Maybe he took beats code out of those. Either way, if theres a link thats dev approved, I'm going to give people the opportunity to get the kernel.
I'm using Chop Suey...I'm going on 19 hours now since full charge...very little usage today and use some battery saving tips...set cpu to interactive x with no profiles set (yet).

He probably took it out. No way to tell for sure I guess.
