Well, N was added to 802.11 with the 802.11-2009 standard, so I guess it isn't that far way from the evo release... I think that was 2010 right?

I never really paid too much attention to the wireless radio specs...

yeah most kernels now support for the wireless n for a while now. the stock kernels might be different. i have not looked into what the stock kernels have as far as support now days. so it will depend on what kernel you have.

Nearly all the custom kernels support it. The stock one doesnt but theres a version of it posted on XDA that has it working.

The latest stock HTC kernels were patched to support wireless n. What Im not sure of is if tiamat or Savaged Zen aosp kernels support it, but nevertheless when I'm on wifi my download speeds are top notch!

Sprint/HTC enabled wireless N on the EVO with Froyo. Then, they took it away again with Gingerbread, but we've been able to modify the wireless module to re-enable it.

Interesting, the thing is having the support in the kernel is fine but if the hardware does not support it you get none. I was surprised to fine the hardware support.

I am running the latest tiamat 410 sbc kernel it has it.
