EVO still on 2.2...should I bother rooting?
I have had this stock EVO for a little over a year and have never accepted any OTAs.
I am finally getting interested in rooting (mostly for wireless tether).
Am I asking for more trouble to try to root since my version is so old?
Android 2.2
Baseband 2.15.00.09.01
Kernel 2.6.32.15
Build 3.30.651.3
Thanks for any input.

It's actually easier to root with the older version. Unrevoked is what you will need. Very simple process. Get your root on!

Good thing you didn't accept those OTA's.
The rooting process is fairly simple, and I love all the options that become available to you after gaining root.

LULz....I guess that depends on the situation. In prison...maybe not!
I just wanted to make sure that with all of the newer methods and updates, that I didn't put my phone in a cell with "Nasty Nate".
Thanks everyone. I will give it a whirl.

Use unrevoked, it is (in my opinion) the greatest way to root, and instantly makes you a classic. It has
nothing to do with the fact that I rooted with unrevoked.
