Default cartoon wars lags even after overclock

One of the reasons I rooted my evo was to overclock the cpu and try to get this game to run more smooth. But it does not.

My co workers all play it and the game runs much more smooth.

The phone runs great otherwist at 1190 with everything else.

Any advice would be awesome.

which governor are you using in setcpu? I was using smartass and my phone was extremely laggy, even when over clocked. Now I've got my profiles set to 245/245 smartass when screen off and 998/245 on demandfor everything else.

Great question.

I always use smartass and have no issues, but InteractiveX is another option many people use and it is worth trying out.

Also, what ROM are you on? Any scripts/tweaks ect?

With Smartass, the CPU has to be pushed more to get it to clock up. I would try InteractiveX. Ondemand should accomplish pretty much the same thing. I like InteractiveX though because I don't have to mess with profiles and SetCPU.
