is this fairly easy to theme with a custom theme? how fast do you expect to turn out new updates? Will we still need tweaks like PapaSmurf's?

I don't quite understand what you are asking. Can you give some more information or try to ask it in a different way?

Are you saying the ROM is borked, titanium backup us borked, or both?

Titanium backup works just fine. Some time you have to break your batch restores down into 2 or maybe 3 batches but I wouldn't say the program is broken

I think perhaps he is referring to this "Current BORKED Apps
5-25-12 Ver. 44 RLS release
Google Play Music borked will replace next update. (INCONSISTANT)
Titanium backup (INCONSISTANT)
Some have a problem others don't we are aware."

Well, it seemed to work ok for me, have you tried it yet?

Some apps I was trying to restore with TB seemed to insist upon updating themselves, i assumed from the market, but it could have just been the google restore thing that did it I'm thinking.

Not yet. I flashed and made a nandroid and went back to my current setup. I'll play with the at a later date. I did notice it was extremely fast. I chose the mason .15 rc3 sbc kernel on the wheatley governor.

Can someone give me a little bit of more info on all the new governors? I usually use smartass, ondemand, or interactive but this kernel has a lot of governors

Wheatley is probably going to be your best bet if you are using the RC3 version of the Mason kernel. Its supposed to be the next big thing for our phones.

I know theres a great link that explains most of them somewhere, but I cant for the life of me find it

There won't be another update until after a break. Then we will gear up for phase two. Phase one is complete with .44 Mag RLS

No need for papa on this rom. Enhanced CoD tweaks designed for and implemented into this rom. Yes, if you can create a theme chooser theme then you can theme this rom.

I am new to AOSP ROM's. This is my first and I don't think I will go back to Sense. I am pretty happy with my theme setup but I would like to change the notification bar icons for the signal meter and the wifi meter. Is this possible to just change these? If so how, and where can I find just those icons? Thanks for the help!

Do a search on the market for "cm7 theme" and basically all of those are compatible with the built in theme chooser. Or if you are interested in doing a mod yourself there's always the uot kitchen.

I am loving this latest update. It is very comparable with my tweaked out cm 7.2. And damn that Mason rc3 SBC fso kernel is so smooth on wheatley whether its over clocked or underclocked. I changed up my undervolting scheme from what I had on cyanogenmod, and the stability seems top notch so far. My phones almost dead so I can't wait to charge it up and see how the battery life is on it. Thank you for all the hard work, this rom is real sick. I do wish I could center the battery bar mod though.

So I just got a itch and I had to scratch it. I ran papasmurfs tweaks on this rom, all I have to say is I'm glad I did. It totally smoothed out this already super slick rom. Try it out people!!!
Edit: I unsmurfed it runs better without it

I will take a look at UOT Kitchen. Those two icons are all I want to change, otherwise I am happy with the theme.

So since I am new to all this...

I am using an installed theme (Mixer) from the ROM. Reading through the UOT site I think I need to upload the APK for that theme? Or do I need to upload the systemui & framework-res APK's? I cannot seem to find the Mixer Theme APK, where would it be located?

For most of UOT kitchen you need to upload the two things it asks for in order to apply the mods

system UI and framework.res

Hey Guys, First of all I must say I LOVE this rom so much, best so far everything is so different and i want to stick with this rom but a have a few issue and i must say my EVO seems not to be happy with ICS roms freeze and rebooting.

I installed this rom two days now and I want to keep it but I am getting frequent freeze and reboot, "reboot only go to the RELOADED logo and come back up quickly". I am thinking it may be the kernel, Is there a less agressive Kernal of these and how to reflash without flashing the rom too?

Mason-G-d15rc1-sbc (Default)
Mason-G-v0.14-fso

Also the Wifi Tether not working, My IPAD2 see the SSID but cannot connect, any help out there today?

First, this is a gingerbread ROM not an ICS one.

If you want to install the kernel seperately you can get them from [KERNEL][WIP] Mason kernel for supersonic v0.14 - xda-developers and the corresponding link to his blog for the .15 RC kernels.

What settings are you using for the kernel? Which kernel are your currently using?

Did you do a full and complete wipe before flashing this ROM?

Its really stable and speedy for me so I'm kind of shocked that you are having rebooting and freezing issues.

I would also check out apps such as SetCPU or system tuner to try and tweak your CPU a bit. I would suggest changing your governor to either wheatley or smartass.

There is an older free version here:
SetCPU for Root Users [2.2.4] Undervolting and more 07/07/2011 - xda-developers

Or you can purchase the updated version from the market here.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mhuang.overclocking

My suggestion would be to try the free one and if it fixes your issues purchase the updated one from the market.

Is the SBC charging in the Mason kernels different than other SBC ones? After charging my phone over night I unplugged it and the battery level was at 94% then within 5 minutes it was 88%. When I was using Sense SBC kernels it would stay at 100% when I unplugged it.

I am using the default kernel with this ROM, Mason .15 RC3 SBC

It should stay at 100% like any other SBC charging. Recent studies by people with way more knowledge than myself have said Mason SBC charging is way better for your battery than any of the rest of the SBC kernels out there for us.

Try wiping battery stats

I m surprised it was only at 94% after all night. Mine is usually at 100% by that time.

I usually use the battery calibration app and 'calibrate' it, so it knows that right there it is at 100%.

maybe that will make some sort of difference for you.

That, combined with letting it settle, should help you out. I've never had any issues with SBC on Mason.

There is also the Lionfish kernels. They are based off the Freedom kernels by lithid. There is an SBC version.

True, try to keep things as on topic as possible here. Start a new thread if you have more questions about a different ROM.

Just an update. It turns out that my actual charger is the culprit of my battery not charging correctly. It is very strange because it works fine with Sense SBC kernels but not Mason. But I switched chargers and it works great now on the Mason kernel. Strange but oh well. I love the Reloaded ROM and the kernel is great. I have my CPU set at 245 min and 652 max and it runs flawlessly. It runs faster at 652 on this ROM than overclocked to 1152 on a Sense ROM.

This ROM has won me over to AOSP forever!!! Thanks Team D.I.R.T.!!!

Default Available Memory

I noticed that the amount of free RAM, at least reported, is low on my phone. It shows 38mb. I find this strange. With a Sense rom it was always around 120mb free. I don't have much loaded on this rom. There is facebook, gmail, and company email syncing but that's it. I am thinking maybe it is displaying incorrect data? I went into settings, running services to see it. I attached a screenshot. I am curious what others are seeing here and if what I am seeing is bad???

i am at 57 free. I may be wrong, but this is only RAM...my guess is with the new COD tweaks, they want as many things "running" as possible to speed up the i/o?!!?!? anyone, amirite?

Yes you are with car o dope tweaks, or papasmurf ( which installs the same ones almost) your free ram stays at a small number so that when you click an app it's already cached and ready to go.

wrong! This ROM has a very light footprint. Your internal memory is what you want. Free ram low means nothing. This isn't windows, it's linux. Every app has its alotted ram whether it's being used at the time or not. Ram gets shifted and moved as needed by the os. The more internal the better on gb. Don't go below 100 and you are fine.

So how do I monitor the internal ram that you are speaking of? I guess the value I was referring to doesn't mean anything?

The phone doesn't list the correct amount of RAm. You will want to use titanium backup to check that.

well then you are certainly running more than just a few apps, I'd like to see a screenshot. As well as how many user and and system apps you are using.
