Default [ROM] Deck's ReLoaded | LOTK | Ver 500 RLS

LOTK Presents,

This is Deck's ReLoaded. For a background on this project please see this thread. Deck's ReLoaded is based off of Kushdeck's 1.3d GB AOSP ROM, the undeniably best GB AOSP rom to ever grace our EVO's.
UNTIL NOW!

With the combined efforts of LOTK, Ropodope, and myself, we have taken what is widely known as the best GB AOSP rom and made it better, faster, stronger, and by god sexier too! This aint your average GB rom, prepare to be blown away by raw speed, and unmatched stability. With Deck's ReLoaded we have taken the exceptional and made it extraordinary!

An excert from Paul E. King's review on Good and Evo
"What you notice most about this is it's smooth. You tap an app, it's open. You go from screen to screen, there is no lag noticeable. It feels almost like it's outperforming my EVO 3D..."
You can read the whole review here- Good and Evo

I checked this out today its real sweet but I couldn't get my data to stick in it, then go launcher disappeared after sending apps to SD. When a final release is ready ill probably switch to it. And I hope they do the ics rotation animation like in cm 7.2 rc1. That's what I'm on now, and ill stick to it until this is ready completely.
Edit: when go launcher disappeared upon a2sd, it was because I stopped the process in terminal emulator, because I though it froze. So no actual problem with the rom. Thought that was worth mentioning. But I could not get my contacts to stick with TB or Google sync. So I don't know what up with that?

I love this rom but can't get GPS working. I've tried reflashing the rom and flashing GPS fix but still nothing. Even tried GPS status from the market that was recommended over on xda.

Mine just locked to ten meters sitting on the couch...wifi disabled so it wasn't pulling anything there.

Seriously this rom is nothing but great. You owe it to yourself to try it out.

Jamie - the darker themed apps are a very nice touch.

It's been decided that since we will be adressing valid user issues with the next update (so sorry fans there are several of them) that this will be a good time to do a complete rewrite of the installer as well as sift through the entire framework followed by much testing. The benefit is a much better ReLoaded rom which will in turn please the masses to no end. As a result do not expect an update today but rather at some point tomorrow. We not only know what has gone wrong in certain instances but what needs to be done to correct them thanks in no small part to you...the awesome Deckheads that you are. Stay tuned and as always keep yourselves ReLoaded!

I like it. It's the only ROM that will ever pull me back to gingerbread. This is kind of stupid, but one of my own personal "smoothness" tests is launching the app drawer with GoLauncher's "windmill" transition for opening the drawer. I think it looks cool. Anyway, even with the LEE kernel it would stutter just a bit on Smartass. Changing to interactive made it smoother, which makes sense....more juice from Interactive than SA. With Wheatley it's smooth as silk but it would be a little slower if you clock down into the 600's or so. I was clocked to 5XX last night and it was smooth as silk with Wheatley on Deck Reloaded. To me, that's absolute proof that I'm getting the same or better performance with a lesser clock setting on my processor. Total efficiency.

a lot of effort, communication and attention was paid to tighten up this already tight ship. some important details unfortunately were overlooked in our excitement to get this out in the month time frame we set for ourselves. In hindsight we should have waited another couple of days but hey it's hard to hold back when you know you've got something this good in the pipeline. We've learned, we are correcting and we will rock even harder as a result. Working with Jamieg, mazdarider, smelkus and atyoung has been an absolute pleasure. The love for this rom is overwhelming.

Quick question, I read on a thread somewhere that this rom has tweaks from car o dope but are optimized more and furthermore we haven't seen anything like it before. Would this rom (when its finished) really be much better than say cm7.2 rc1 with Mason rc3 and papasmurfs tweaks undervolted and such? Because when reloaded is done I plan on switching to it anyway, I was just wondering how in depth and how much better this rom will be than one I have tweaked myself that is basically flawless right now. Oh and should I run papasmurfs tweaks on it or are they gonna be built in to run with script manager off the rip?

My opinion is that yes, it will be better (Actually, I would consider it fact). You don't need to mess with Papa Smurf's tweaks on reloaded. It's plenty fast as is and mixing tweaks like that together can cause issues sometimes.

Deck 1.3d is already the gold standard of AOSP roms and it has only been improved upon in the Reloaded build. Update is coming shortly (next couple of days hopefully) and it is without match as far as I'm concerned.

we are building the update as I post this. We have made some very nice changes. As long as the testing goes well after the build is complete we will get it up here right away. fast is an understatement. Stay tuned and prepare to get ReLoaded.

Hey rope, I'm still having problems locking GPS. I hope this new update fixes it.

Also, I needed navigation today so I nandroided back to Tommy's EVO classic and while in it I tried to check for updates on AdFREE and it gives me the EXACT same error (too old?) that Decks Reloaded was giving me. So the problem stuck through the nandroid.

EDIT:

I WAS just able to get a lock by nandroiding back to a sense ROM, using GPS status, backing it up via titanium, and then nandroiding back to decks reloaded and restoring data to GPS status.

I do not know if this will "stick", but it seems to at least be a temporary fix..

Have you used GPS status to clear data or even the old sense gpsclr trick?

Check my edit.

Using GPS status while in decks reloaded did NOT help. By using a sense ROM and backing up data from GPSstatus and restoring it in decks reloaded I was able to get a lock.

I'm not sure if its really a lock though. I guess i will find out when I move locations.

All I've ever had to do with GPS status was do a clear data. Never had to back up anything with it. Clear should be one of your options in the app menu.

There was also a clear trick we had to do with cm7 before the vision driver was available. Nand your deck setup. Then flash to sense. Get msl reader from the market. Run the app and write down your msl. Then open the sense dialer and type in ##gpsclrx# and enter your msl when prompted. You might want to double check the command but I think it's right. Your phone will reboot. After it boots, open Google maps and get a good, solid GPS lock. Then nand back to deck.

Like I said this used to be the only way for GPS to be worth a damn on aosp.

I've cleared and downloaded the new GPS data within the app on decks and neither of them worked. The data restore seems to be holding up

Default Noob question - Netflix not working

OK, I am a super noob, I accept that. Just installed my first ROM on my EVO 4g, which was the Deck Reloaded 357 with whatever the default kernel was. So far so good, except I installed the Netflix client and when it tries to run I just get a black screen. Any one have any help for me? Thanks

Big update being uploaded right now for me to test. Very impressive...you will smile...the OP will explain it all when ready for dl. Skype ffc fixed... tango fixed..all apps that call upon the maps.jar fixed...new system font...stock cm7 themes added back in...additional tc themes to choose from in aroma now available...any apps which either didn't install, installed but fc'd or installed in /data/app but didn't populate due to parsing error are fixed...dta2sd totally fixed!...complete rewrite of aroma installer completed...proper sign in wizard added. (after sign in, wizard will take you back to the beginning again. Hit next and this time instead of signing in just hit skip. The wizard will then fc before taking you into the ROM. There's no work around for this yet...no big deal, it works.) If you want tango fix to stay in place then you do not update it from the market. Shame on you if you do. Finally voxer works just fine now .357 will now go to .44. Get ready to get ReLoaded. I will be doing final testing on this in a short while. If it passes my muster then we will upload it immediately...stay tuned..Bang bang shoot 'em all!

It's a showdown in the no man's land, for the cowboy of the modern day.

I like the sound of that, you think we might be able to get around wiping data from other aosp roms to preserve our data?

Yes, LOTS of options baked in. But depending on what you install, still a small ROM footprint. It's booting for me right now as I type this. Can't wait to test drive this bad boy!

I noticed the default font is sponsored by ropodope.

we've got one very important fix, one mod oversight one killer in call feature 1 app removal/better replacement, one last overall update of all apps and one app repair and as far as I am concerned this ROM is done for phase one. Rest up for a few days and gear up for phase two of Deck's Reloaded: Phillo.

man this thing flies. Hehehe.

KUDOS to all involved in this ROM....it is INCREDIBLE!

I was having some issues with the wifi and wireless tether but searched the thread at XDA and found this from jamieG71

Place the bin file in an empty folder titled "android.tether" on root of SD card. Erase cache and data in wifi tether app, reboot, enjoy.
Thought I would post it here in case anyone else runs into any problems.

I'm sorry, I must have done something wrong because I'm having a hell of a time with this rom. The first time I flashed this a few days ago I had quite a bit of issues. I followed the install instructions to a T, but it lags and every time I did a battery pull or rebooted it it would revert back to 100% stock with none of my apps. If I rebooted again it all comes back but I have to reinstall my widgets. Pretty annoying. Battery life was absolutely terrible, dead in 4 hours with moderate use. But the lag everywhere on the wheatley governor was really surprising, this can't be right. This morning I flashed the update and redid everything. I'm noticing better performance but I'm not seeing this as any better than decks 1.3d with the .15rc3 sbc kernel. What am I missing here? BTW, my stock camera does not work, but with a 3rd party app like ICS camera it works. WTF?

Wiped EVERYTHING but SDcard
FLashed Calkulins format all

.44 Reloaded
.15 rc3 sbc
ICS theme
Using GoLauncher
Nothing else

Let sit for 5 minutes

Sounds to me like you are having issues with dta2sd. The ROM is so fast that it boots up before a2SD has a chance to load up. That is why it goes to stock when you reboot up the first time after enabling it.

What class and size SD card do you have?

What is your partition information?

The first time I flashed the dt2sd but this time I did not flash it. I have a 16gb class 8 card that is partitioned to I think 512mb? Not sure.

Don't know what is up with your issues but there is a new version that was posted yesterday. Might try installing it now instead.

I have run it all day and it has been absolutely wonderful!

you might have to experiment with the versions of the kernel or your governor settings, but this rom has been solid for me today.

ok, I thought you said a few days ago and I thought it just came out yesterday.

I am running it without the dta2sd and it is small enough footprint that i don't miss the partition. Just wanted it up and running without the extra possible complications.

good luck, hope you get it straightened out! let us know please.

Can you verify that the ROM isn't using a2SD?

Either by going into titanium backup and looking at your system information or by using a2sd check from terminal emulator.

Can also try a2Sd remove from terminal emulator.

Edit:
Also, I know the devs of this ROM don't want dta2SD related questions in their XDA thread, but if they don't mind it over here I have no problems trying to help.

This rom is greatness. I have no issues. My only complaint is that it kills my desire to flash other stuff, and it's somewhat weird to flash an aosp rom where everything works on first boot. I guess I'll get used to it.

Sorry, I flashed the first version back on the 21st I think when it was first released, and today I flashed the newest version and started over to try to fix my issues.

Well, the first time I flashed I installed it through the aroma installer. This time I did not go with that option. So, I should not have a2sd installed, correct?

Now if we can just get you to go over to XDA and teach people there what the term "search" means... lol Thanks for sharing that fix I posted! Credit for that fix goes to Teh-roxxorz as I found it in his thread many moons ago.

I had a brain fart and messed up some things in regards to dta2sd. These issues have all been fixed in the RLS. Just be sure if you choose dta2sd that you are partitioned correctly, and that you do not use the built in feature in "manage applications" to try to move apps to sd as that is what dta2sd is for. Sorry for your issues, I hope you will give this RLS release a chance to win you over. It's something else.

Hahaha!!! Hey no worries, I had to request that people stop asking redundant questions over at xda, it was out of hand! I mean we realized there was a problem, posted it in the bug tracker. Gave temporary solutions, and there were still people asking the same thing, and I kid you not, more than once the answer was posted a few posts above their own!! lol

Thank you very much for lending a hand over here! Myself and Rope have been hard at smashing bugs, adding features, and addressing issues, so it is truly appreciated! Please always feel more than welcome to step in and give a hand if I or Rope are mia!

I can forsee a future 10 maybe 20 years down the road, where if you do not flash Tommy's Classic, you will have to live with the regret of missing out on the greatness that is Mr. Tomatoe and the Classic! I myself can not stand sense roms, with one exception, the Classic Supermagic. His work is amazing and he is a generous, humble, devoted, android genius!

+1000 Rope I almost felt guilty reading his post, flattered, but guilty bro! I feel like Garth in Wayne's World...

This thing just makes my evo a beast. I haven't even bothered with the rls yet. I wasn't even aware that supermagic dropped. This combined with mazda's cm9 means I may never flash another sense rom.

I know I won't. Just Tommy here and there. You NEED to get the .44 RLS. It's better in every way. Seriously. It's worth it just for the themed first time Google login alone!
