So I've pretty much maxed my internal with apps, game data, music and what have you. But for some reason very few apps can access my external SD. What's up with that? I've also not really been angle to find my nandroids while file browsing. Can find my old ones for the og evo
The phone by default stores everything in the internal partition storage.
As far as I know right now there isn't a a2sd for us yet. If there is I missed the boat on it. LOL
You can set the camera to save photos to the SD card. Open the camera and hit the settings gear / storage and select storage card.
Your nandroids are being saved to your internal partition. Look under: TWRP / Backups / HT25CS403151
Your backups "should" be in there.
As far as the space issues, I'd clear out a lot of app data, clear out the app caches, ETC. Even delete apps you don't use as much.
Crushing the internal storage on this thing is a feat, and I salute you on a momentous achievement.

So i went to save a pic a friend sent me via txt and to my complete surprise my phone said the phone storage was too full. I can't understand why. I really don't have any apps. No music. Everything is on my 16gb sd card. What can I do to fix this?
I have NO idea where I could have 9gb tied up. I am stumped.
All of my apps on "phone storage" show 0.00B.

Can you open up an app like titanium backup and take a screen shot of the main page at the bottom where it shows your phone storage?
Edit: like this

Yeah I noticed the nands were taking up some good space. Also all the roms maybe? I'm going to order a 32 gig this weekend.
But does that explain the phone storage being full?
I guess if I have all my nands saved in "internal storage" that would be the phone's storage.. I can't remember where I put them. I'm going to take a look when I have a chance. Anything else you think might be hogging memory?
I'm bracing for hurricane sandy now. Remember, I'm in ocean city, NJ. Not good. Here's hoping I'm still above water with a roof over my head this time tomorrow!

Its your internal SD card that's full, not your external SD card that can be replaced. Its kind of confusing at first that our phones have 2 sd cards. Simply delete some things off of it or move some of it to the external card
Your phone has plenty of space, as does the external card. Its trying to put your picture on the full internal card

So what kind of things would be on my internal card? I have moved just about all my apps and pictures to the sd card. I don't have any music or extensive, videos on it.

Well you can navigate to either cards using either a file explorer or your computer via USB.
I'm nandroiding back to a sense ROM right now so I can try to show you some images as they should show up.

Apparently I deleted all of my sense backups and no longer have a sense ROM on my cards
Basically when you plug your computer in via usb in media link mode it should bring up both cards. SD 0 is your internal card, and SD1 is the external card.
You can also navigate to these with any file explorer and delete things as you feel required. Delete any old ROMs, kernels, nandroids ect
Your nandroids will be in a folder titled TWRP and will be a few folders deep
I dont get it... its nothing but empty folders. I mean a few things but nothing that justifies 9 GB of space...
I have 3 nandroids and they are all on the external card...
I deleted about 50 songs off of the external card yesterday and ididnt gain much space it seems like alot of it is lost by some unknown thing. lol I even went and deleted the roms out of there i wasnt using really cleaned it out and still 9gb phone storage gone. Could this be a bug in meanrom? Ive never had a phone that's storage filled. I take pictures the occasional video. I dont have music on it or anything. Just stumped right now.

Hey guys just wanted to give a quick update. After an extensive look at the internal card I found all kinds of things lurking in the shadows if you will. Lol
I've cleaned out most and moved anything I could to my sd card and gained 2gb. I'm sure I could do even more but until I get my 32gb card that should be fine. Thanks for the help again!
I'm still trying to hunt down where all the rest of that space is being taken up but I can't really find it. I'm really surprised I'm running into this problem only having the phone for 6 months. When it gives me the option to clean things out there is literally nothing there.
Do you think it's normal to only have 2gb out of 9gb free when I have no music, deleted all my photos and vids(backed to the cloud)? I just don't know what's taking up the space.

Honestly i dont have many. And the few games i have are simple ones. Nothing like shadowgun or anything like that. I keep looking and looking and it really seems like i have cleaned shop. But at the moment i only have 1.81 GB free internal. I have a 16gb card which i have moved everything i can to. So thats why im confused. My nands, titanium backups, roms, everythings is on the ext SD. I even backed all my photos and videos onto my laptop and deleted them from my phone. Didnt gain much there either. Could it be an issue with the rom im on?
I usually wouldnt care and be this picky. But its bad when you try and save a picture someone sends you and you cant because your out of memory. Thats no good. lol
Maybe ill restore an old nand and see if it changes. Or would that not make a difference?
For example: I had over a GB now I'm down to 688mb but idk why. It shows nothing there to clean out but a few photos. Internal storage is good. But the phone storage is where I'm having an issue.
If you unzip it to your c:\ drive, you should get a folder named sdk-tools - inside you'll find adb and fastboot for Windows, Mac and Linux. Ignore the stuff you don't care about.
Next - make sure you have USB debugging turned on. It's under Developer Options in your main phone settings.
Next - cd to the folder where you have adb, get a DOS window, do this:
cd c:\sdk-tools
(that will work if you unzipped as I suggested - doesn't really matter, just get a DOS window to where adb and its dll files are located)
Next - plug in your phone. Choose Charge Only.
Next - in the DOS window, copy/paste this command -
adb shell "cd /sdcard; ls -lFaR" > sd-contents.txt
When your DOS prompt comes back - do the dir command and you'll see the file, sd-contents.txt.
Next - use your normal way in your file explorer and zip that file.
Next - use the Go Advanced posting feature here, choose the paper clip to attach the file here, browse to the zip of sd-contents.txt.zip (or whatever it's called) and upload it here. Close the attach window (upper right) when it's up, then click the down arrow next to the paper clip to inline the file.
That will give us a recursive directory dump - with sizes - of everything on your sdcard partition.
Wait until one of us can check it properly (I'm not guaranteeing tonight for me, lol) and if all went well, we'll be able to tell you exactly where things are and what you're looking at.
After upload - ok for you to look at it with Wordpad.
No sensitive data can be transmitted this way.
BTW - I've tested this in unix, the syntax should be the same in Windows. If it barfs, give me until tomorrow to get to a Windows machine.

As soon as I get off work I am going to do this and I'll post my results. Thank you early

This is probably a stupid question... but what is the dir command? I just Copied/pasted "adb shell "cd /sdcard; ls -lFaR" > sd-contents.txt" So that is where im at right now,
The dir command lists directory contents. I think command line, sorry. You don't need to do that, you can verify the existence of the sd-contents.txt file using your Windows file browser, no problem.

Now I just feel silly for taking all of my pictures and putting them on my tablet and deleting and moving and deleting... And all along it was one folder that I didn't look in. DOH!

I'm glad you got your storage issue sorted out. I periodically go through both the internal and external sd cards copying everything I want to my laptop. Then I format both to make sure I'm not getting things too cluttered.
And p.s. thanks for reminding me I have to delete the ROMs in my OTA-Update folder. I had 3 in there I forgot about.
