Ok, I currently have HTC Mail, Gmail, Chrome with 7 tabs, Boat Browser with 4 windows, Boat Browser Mini with 3 windows, two tapatalk-based forum apps, Crunchyroll (anime viewer), EStrongs File Explorer, People, and Quick System Info Pro (with a status bar widget telling me that I have only used 64% (497 MB) of ram) all open at once and I am running FAST.
Browser pages are blanking but coming back up quickly when I go to them.
I have not changed from the stock 2.0.2 oom or minfree values.
I'll keep adding stuff. I don't know. This is looking mighty chipper so far to me.

AnTuTu - 7927
Quadrant - 5888
I don't know if those are supposed to be good or bad, I'm just trying to show stuff running.

For some reason my email has stopped working. It wouldn't connect to the server and would say login failed. So I removed the account and tried to re add the hotmail acct and it wouldn't allow me to do it. Any ideas?

Hotmail actually acts up and does this from time to time along with Yahoo mail accounts.
I think it was last year that we documented the both of them tinkering with their servers and claiming to users that they weren't.
See if there are others with new server parameters for a manual account setup is about all I can suggest. If you can give it a day, it might clear itself.
Is that mod only for Viper? I tried it on MeanROM and it cut my download speed in half. Went from 2.3 megabytes per second down to 1.1 megabyte per second.

It's not affected mine.
Did your download speed restore after reverting it?
Have you tried going back and forth to ensure it's this?
Nothing there should impact net speed at all.
MeanROM uses the same heap settings as viper - htc stock values.
I just reverted and tested again. I'm still downloading at 1.1 megabyte per second. So I guess it wasn't the mod. Darn, I was hoping to get that great download speed back. I have no idea what slowed my phone down. Hmm. Oh well, cest la vie.

Probably normal (or abnormal now that I think of it) tower maintenance.
Try Open Signal Maps, see if you're tower hopping.

Man, I'm lucky to get a 0.3 whenever I go. I have never gotten a 1.0 or greater anywhere.

Nah, I was on Wi-Fi when I tried it out. But my Wi-Fi is extremely unreliable because I live in the middle of nowhere. When I got 2.3 megabytes per second I think I may have just gotten lucky. When I'm on mobile data I'm lucky to get 200 kilobytes per second.

This is by far the most awesome ROM for customizing. I think I found my daily driver for my new LTE.
Does anyone know what the correct kernel is for this current version as I still have S-ON and need to flash is separately. The kernel that I currently have running with this ROM is:
3.0.8-01680-gb6402b4
root@ABM030#1
SMP PREEMPT

well i'm glad you found one you like. thats two roms in a few days now......sounds like someones becoming a flashaholic
LOL...Yup! I was kinda of a flashaholic with my old EVO until I found one that I really liked. One of the reasons I like this ROM so much is the major amount of customizing you can do. I like being able to hide the clock and battery icons in the status bar since I already have those widgets on my home screen I don't need them twice.

I'm just about full circle for comming back to Viper.
I'm going to try and flash this soon, already downloaded the lag fix too. I really didn't experience lag too bad last time I ran the ROM. I'm not a heavy multi-tasker either, so that may be the rub there.
Eiither way I'll reflash this, then flash the lag fix in the same recovery session as recommended by Viperboy. Thanks for the heads up EM.

Wipe cache and Dalvik after you've finished flashing.
Note - in TWRP, you can stack those up and flash in one session - be sure to do them in that order though.
PS - also, not a bad idea to update PRL and Profile when done with all of that.
Yeah I was doing fine...hence the silence. Was also running errands.
Was wondering why the suggestion for #Fapple?? My guess is that one is NOT prompted for app associations where one would WANT the association choice correct?? So that you can associate whatever you want whenever you want.
As an aside, similar to app associations above was used an app called Andmade Share that permits you to narrow down the list of share choices, hiding them from the list and also allowing you to send using multiple apps. I only ever use like email, text, facebook so it was VERY annoying to be prompted for like 20 different possible sharing apps. Cool to have for the share menus...
Still at the verrrrrry beginning of all of this so I'll be back soon....

Then pick the lagfix that matches your setup, with or without fapple.
Wait until you discover button re-mapping and getting rid of those 3 dots on every screen - Venom Tweaks, available in your app drawer or from your quick settings.
And themes and font changes are a click away now.

Without #Fapple -
With #Fapple, plain text urls in apps are detected correctly, same as it ever was -
So, if that matters to you, you want #Fapple.
Interesting, because that #Faaple link above showed screenshots of app associations only but not the clickable links that you showed. Now THOSE I miss!
Do I just flash #Fapple in recovery??

Custom FONT...good, I had a custom font on my old EVO. I looked at the Viper Tweaks —> Advan and the ability to use a custom font. Takes me to HTC files as you know.
Do I just grab a font pack zip to get a custom font?? If so, where do I put it to show in the HTC files?? Also, how do I get back to the "stock" font if I need to?? I checked the Team Venom Viper 4G 2.0.2 thread and searched for custom font installation instructions but didn't find. I sometimes don't have too much luck with thread searches...

EM got me straightened out on that one too.
So you see an improvement/are happy with flashing both?? I haven't flashed either yet...I've only rooted a couple days ago with not much time to sit and and play.
It adjusts memory control parameters and has a big impact on multitasking. Without it, things like the Chrome browser can lock up forcing you reboot. With it, that's virtually gone.
Lagfix 4 is close to all such adjustments coming baked in on the next release.

Haven't done lag free yet, should I hold off and do lag fix instead?

I'm very happy with this mod added to the Rom. Very snappy and like EM said the multitasking works a lot better than stock.

Yes. lagfix incorporates an updated version the lagfree changes and many others.
If lag persists after lagfix4, you have to wipe and then re-install with lagfix4 immediately after that (or #fapple and lagfix4 if that's your preference).

Ok, I have come from MeanRom, and JellyBomb and like all the roms I have tried. This one seem the closest to the features I want. I have two questions:
1. I put a status bar icon on and would like to remove it but don't know how, can anyone help?
2. is there any way to have a 4x5 Rosie? I thought there was but It looks like I am wrong.
Did you put the icon on courtesy of an app (for example, Quick System Info Pro does that)? If so, you can remove those in that app's settings.
There was a mod for 4x5 Rosie, but I'll have to check where that is and if it's compatible with this version. I'll also see if I can find out if it's going into the upcoming release. No guarantees but I'll check.

I dug around EM, and I couldn't find a rosie mod that wasn't included in the tweaks. I gave it a solid 20 minutes, searching through the Viper threads, no dice.
Hopefully you can find something.
