Default how do i clean the front speaker of the evo?

Anyone know how to clean the speaker in the front of the phone, you know the silver looking part? It seems to be accumulating dust. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would like to know this as well. I noticed the first time I put my evo in my pocket, when i pulled it out the earpiece had quite an amount of dust in it. I tried a damp q-tip, but that actually made it worse, as the little holes in the silver cover just acted like a cheese grater, and shredded the q-tip.

Good question.. was wondering the same thing. For now, I'm just blowing in it, but do you think if we used the air blower, it will get inside?

I would use a vacuum. Too nervous that blowing air will push dust in the screen....

Use a q-tip to clean your ears, that's disgusting..

And, use a vacuum to suck the stuff out.

This is one of my only gripes with this phone. I don't know why they added a recessed grill. I wish they had the old red grill from the prototypes that we could place on top of the current ones in order to make it flush with the face of the phone. That would be uber sweet!

I just cleaned mine by folding a piece of Scotch tape back on itself so that both sides were sticky, then creased it sharply and dabbed it into the corner of the bezel and speaker grille. Worked like a charm.

During that process I also discovered that Scotch tape removes finger print oils from the touch screen/screen protector very well.

1001 uses for Scotch tape. Thanks 3M!

Wow this really does work, and only takes a couple minutes. It also does remove oil visibly from the black surfaces.

They need minds like yours working on fixing that damn oil leak!

I use 'cyber clean', it's a green substance that's very reminiscent of GAK(if you remember that stuff) You can get it at pretty much any electronics retailer. I have been using the same blob for over 6 months now and it still cleans pretty well
