Default How do I turn off the auto-complete?

Can't seem to find it in the settings and is a bit annoying.

If anyone can help me on how to turn this feature off it would be appreciated.

No problem, some of the menus are buried pretty deep.

Is there a way to delete a saved word in the auto complete? My wife typed out "yoy" for "you", when it brought up the suggestions she accidentally hit "yoy" and it saved. Now whenever she types out "you" it auto-corrects it to "yoy".

I was having this same problem, and some of the above suggestions didn't work.
After some poking around, I found that the following works quite well.

This is what worked on my Casio Commando.

Turn off auto-complete:

Menu
Settings
Language & keyboard
X9 Text Input Settings
Language & settings
English (current setting); (there’s a “>” symbol to the right)) press it
Keyboard Input (then another menu pops up)

This is where you’d turn off Auto-correction, Word Completion,
Next Word Prediction, Word Reselection, etc.

very good information (for a casio commando, this is an evo forum)

you do raise a good point though...the menu can be elsewhere if using a 3rd party keyboard or custom rom, and in some cases it can be in multiple locations

Thanks. I have a Casio Commando and could not find this info anywhere. I've wanted to turn off the auto correct since the second I got it, to the point where I was going to be testing the mil spec by hitting the thing with a hamer. I went to the language settings but didn't realize their was a submenu below english.

It would be fine if it just accepted what you were typing unless you chose one of the offered words, but i'd rather have a mispelled version of what i was trying to type than a completely different word most of the time.

I don't know if that is swype or casio or android that was doing that but I hate it.

thanks.
