I tried to uninstall and Reinstall my Swype, but I am now getting an "Swype Installation Failed Message. The ID of this phone does not match tyour registration at beta.swype.com."
I had a similar problem after froyo. i googled "swype apk version 1.56.30.7625" and found a site with the apk and downloaded it to my phone, installed, went to settings/keyboard changed to swype, long pressed on text field, and have no problems.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I had the same problem last month and had to contact Swype. They allowed me to download again and it worked better. However the last few days it just stops working every few hours and I have to change the input selection.
I followed their explanation on the website to the T, and I haven't had ANY problems since I re-installed. In fact, I'd say it's working BETTER than it was on 2.1, for me.

It's pretty easy to un-install, but make sure you uninstall based on the order that Swype has in their FAQ's and make sure to remove the downloaded apk file as well (just to be double safe).
