Default 256mb available good or bad?

What does this mean and should I have more? How do I clear up memory?

256 is fine (actually pretty good) like the above poster mentioned. When you do get low on memory you can take advantage of apps to sd (not sure if you are aware of it or not) and move compatable apps to the sd card to free up internal memory.
