Help with HDMI cable and rooting mobile hot spot

Does anyone know if you can watch streaming video or movies on your tv via hdmi cable? I seem to be only able to watch videos that I took on my evo. Also, I see you can root the phone and get the mobile hotspot for free. Is it still limited to the 5GB of data with 3G like sprint has? Thanks!

If the streaming videos make use of the stock player, then yes, they will output via hdmi. iphonemoviez.net used to do this before they shut it down.

Yes you can do it for free. I wasnt aware sprint had a 5gb cap, I thought sprint was the only carrier who didnt have a cap. But if they do, then yes, that still counts as data and therefore would add up.

Sprint doesn't have a cap on the 4G usage. Only on 3G. I can't get 4G where I live. Stupid how that works.
