Default Google contact Groups not match Groups on phone ???

Google contact Groups not match Groups on phone ???

Searched forum on this issue.
This issue has generated multiple topics,
without a single response with a solution.

Anybody out there ?

In the alternative, can anyone suggest Apps. that might do this--match phone groups with Google contact groups ?

Thanks

Default Android and GMail contact group names don't match?

They must be kidding. This issue has been ongoing from what I can tell for years now. I just spent a few hours cleaning up all of my PC contacts, importing over to Google (from Outlook) and they don't even carry groups down to the phone? And then there's this garbage 'Starred in Android' which is the 'Favorites' on the phone? Developers, get a clue, fix this kind of thing once and for all.

And on the phone, I can't 'add'/tag a Google contact to another group like Friends or Family? One contact = one group on the phone but multiple groups on GMail. Inconsistency at its worst.

Oh, and don't rename your 'Starred ..' group in GMail contacts to something like 'Android Favorites'. This breaks the phone favorites tags.

Am I brain dead, a newbie, both? Or am I just another frustrated consumer... Google, I thought you were better than this.

Galaxy S Vibrant on T-Mobile, 2 weeks on the beast so far. Happy, almost.

Default Success! Gmail groups now synched on my Droidx

Like many out there, I could not get the Groups I created in google gmail Contacts to synch to my android phone. The individual contacts would synch, just no Group.

Turns out the Group and Group name were on the phone, just not 'visible'.

In the Contacts screen click MENU > Display Options.
Then select the account where you created the Group.
Then you will see every Group as it appears in your Gmail account.
Except for 'My Contacts', all of my Group names were unchecked and not displayed.
Click the Group name.
Go back to Contacts and click the Group icon... and now your Group is displayed.

Now Gmail groups will display and synch to your droid.
