Default Problems with my Evo's charging and time

My HTC Evo started to show problems last night when it's time set back about four hours, and the calender with all of my events somehow got doubled up and received the wrong times. An event that was supposed to be 4-9:30 was doubled and two events on the same day both showed 11-4. I went into my settings and fixed the problem, but it showed back up this morning in addition to a charging problem. The phone won't charge in a wall outlet, and I've tried many times in different outlets. However, the phone will charge when connected to my laptop through the USB cord. I'm thinking the peg that goes into the wall outlet, that accepts the USB is the problem. Any ideas for my problems? Anything is much appreciated. Thank you.
