Angry Broken screen fix?

about 30 minutes ago i fell off of a high shelf with my evo in my hand, when i land the evo hit the ground and now the screen is all black with some spiderwebs or random color in the bottom right hand corner. not cracks in the glass at all.
what do i do?
i bought the phone at best buy with some kind of warranty but the the phone is also rooted. should i just take it back and ask for a new one?

sprint repair will replace the screen for $35 if you don't have their insurance...it's a 10 minute fix assuming it is just the screen

best buy MAY give you a new one if you are within 30 days...otherwise they are going to send it off for repair (2-3 weeks)

should i unroot it first?
or just take my SD card out before i send it in?
how would i un root it with a broken screen?
does repairing it myself void the warranty?

I just did the same thing this weekend, wrecked on the trails on my bike and the lcd is damaged. Took it to a store repair store and the ******s said they couldn't fix it. So I looked at this guide: HTC Evo 4G Teardown - iFixit and a couple videos on youtube to convience myself I could replace it. I am too am rooted and worried about any BS I would get from sprint so I ordered the LCD on ebay (HTC Evo 4G LCD Display Screen replacement parts Sprint - eBay (item 250782149841 end time Apr-01-11 01:02:27 PDT)) and will fix her by the end of the week

Any updates on this? I got my new lcd and installed it. Booted her up and thankfully the splash screen and boot animation appeared. After the boot animation it started to transition to my home screen but when black and the 4 buttons along the bottom were lit up. Let it set for a few but nothing. Pulled the battery reboot, black screen. It does vibrate when powering on though. I also noticed the led does not come on when I plug it in... Not sure what the hell is wrong
