For contacts, email don't you sync you information to Google? once you sign into Google on the iPhone all your information should repopulate.

Text messages, I don't know.

When i click the mail option and i put in my gmail information the contacts do not come over, there is a app for to help you do it, if not there has to be another way.

I am pretty sure you need the apple gmail app or somebsort of Google app. For txt the best you are going to be able to do is find an app in Google market take note of who the developer is and then search for that developer on apple app store. Other than that you could use soomething like SMS back up to save them to your SD card or a similar app to send them email.

I can understand saving them...but having a hard time figuring out why people insist on getting them on their new phone
