Unhappy Deleting smdl2tmp1.asec doesnt help

Ok, I have read about many people having problems updating or installing apps due to the smdl2tmp1.asec file in the .android_secure file. Having tried to delete the file and reboot, mounting/unmounting my SD card and none of that helps. When I mount my SD card onto my computer if I attempt to cut the folder and move it I get an error message telling me the file is corrupt, the same thing happens if I attempt to rename the file as well. the instant I delete the file or folder and back out or reboot the file is instantly recreated with the corrupt smdl2tmp1 file. Am I not fully understanding the process required to fix this problem or does anyone else have a solution I could try?

I have attempted to find another thread about this before posting and could not, sorry if this is a duplicate.

Better open up a command prompt, then do a sfc /scannow on your phone (set as disk drive). Something like that.

You may want to try and copy the contents of your sd card to your PC, then try and format the card. That seems like the card has a corruption somewhere and you need to format it.

Under normal circumstances .android_secure is reserved for "moving" apps to the sdcard this is where data is stored for the apps. I have a feeling you have an app that is using this procedure So until you find it and switch it off you may still get this issue
