Default EVO detects secured WIFI networks as open and wont connect

My Evo recently started detecting all secured WIFI networks as an open network. When it scans and detects a network that I have confirmed to be secure, it says that it is connected, identifies the security as "open", will not prompt me for a password, and I am not able to access the internet. Any advice?

Where are you going that it sees an open network? Most of the places that have open Wifi, you have to open the internet browser and "accept" the terms and conditions of their wifi service.
