I bought a used Evo from craigslist and noticed now that it cannot update. It works fine besides that. I will note that it is flashed to Boost Mobile and I have not activated it yet (tried to update using wifi) and it was rooted when I bought it. Using wifi, I downloaded the updates but when it went to reboot the phone I got the android screen with the box opening and then after the green bar was about 20% done, the screen went to an android with an exclamation point inside a yellow triangle. I took the battery out and rebooted it from there with the update being unsuccessful. Also, I'm not sure if it is running a "custom rom" or anything like that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ok it might be rooted. to check power off the press and hold power+vol down. on the screen at the top, it should either say s-on or s-off? also on that same screen will also show you what your hboot is.
