Default short cuts assigned to power button

Since my last upgrade I noticed that I had an option when pressing the power button to silent phone and to turn on/off internet. After the upgrade these options are no longer there. Is there way to set these short cuts back into that power switch? (p.s. my wife is driving me crazy, cause I upgrade the phone )

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i believe that gingerbread took those options away. i do not think that it is possible that you can add those features back with the power button unless you are rooted.

Is there a way through the maze of menus to turn off the internet connection? That was a really useful power saving trick. While I appreciate the fast boot, I really liked the feature of turning off the data and converting it to a "dumb phone" that only makes and receives phone calls.

You can add a widget called "Mobile" which turns the 3G antenna on/off. Press the "+" sign at the lower right corner of a home page. Select "Widget" from the "Add to Home" menu. Scroll down to "Settings" and select it and then select "Mobile Network".
