Question Problems after airpush

I unknowingly downloaded an app that was highly rated on the market that had airpush packaged with it. I found out after some random search icon showed up on my wall.

I've since deleted the offending app and removed the icon, but since then, my battery drains significantly faster. I've also had trouble with the internet being wonky since uninstall, to the point that I've rebooted my phone four times in the last three days, when before that I hadn't rebooted in weeks.

Is it possible that these problems have anything to do with airpush? Is there something else I need to do to remove it? Or is it just a strange coincidence (the phone is 1.5yrs old so I suppose it just may be time for a new battery)? Is doing a factory reset my only way to try to fix the glitches?

Together with this AirPush icon you might have a redirect of your browser too.
I'm not sure but this might be the reason for your issue.

Here is a post how to remove this browser redirect:

There you should only see 2 google website settings. If you see a "start.infospace.com" setting or any other setting, simply click on it. Then click on "clear data" or whatever the option is. Done.

It should no longer redirect you now. I have a Samsung Galaxy S2, stock rom, T-mobile. I mainly use Dolphin Browser which seemed unaffected. Only the stock browser was showing the redirect. Anyways this took care of it for me.

It actually never redirected my browser even when it was there. So I guess I should be thankful for that. It's more that the internet stops working altogether. I try to turn off off wifi and then turn it back on, because usually in the past, that worked on the rare occasion that the internet would slow or stop. But then the wifi just says turning off for ages which is the point where I need to reboot. So it's more of a wifi problem than an internet problem I guess, but the problem is very recent. I'll try the new OTA to see if it helps, but if it doesn't, I guess I'll probably just try resetting.
