Welcome to the forums, bkmayer.
By "HTC EVO" do you mean the 4G, the 3D, the Design or the Shift?
We've moved your question to the 4G area for now, let us know if you've got one of those other EVOs and we'll move it to the proper area for you.
Meanwhile, file transfer to a computer is quite simple via a USB cable (usually the charging cable that came with the device). "USB debugging" should be enabled in the applications/development menu, and you should also have the HTC drivers installed in the computer to which you want to move the files. Then it's just a matter of attaching the cable and following the prompts.
Then, once you see the phone recognized as a drive letter in your computer file hierarchy, just select the file/folder with the pics and drag and drop.
