Welcome to the forums!
Did this just happen today? Do you have data turned on? How about via wifi?
Can you connect to internet with your browser? Or is the connecting issue just with the play store?

OK, so it worked over Wi-Fi but why all of a sudden? also there was, same day this problem happened, another incident with an app called ULOOPS/POCKETBAND. Which is why I switched back to Android from iPhone. Problem is: I can make music but can't upload cover photo for my published work..also can't open app in external browser. I checked the forums in the app and there was a thread started that same day. It all boils down to be me and this other user, both EVO owners, are experiencing parallel issues. This seems to be an EVO issue I can only assume because it's only EVO's in the thread having issues. Thanks for all your help!!!

Well, as I don't know anything about that app, I cannot help ya.
However, can you now update apps without wifi no problem?

The 4g issue is a glitch with the new play store update...nothing you can do about that, however try this,
Go to settings, apps, all & Clear cache and data for Google services framework & Google play store.

I'd add Download Manager to that just to make sure, and then reboot the phone
