Default Windows Media Player and the EVO?

I was hoping to use Windows Media Player to sync music with my EVO, but unfortunately I don't see the EVO showing up under the sync tab. I wanted to use Windows Media Player instead of just dragging files to the SD card so the Album art is captured and will display on the EVO.

Anyone had any luck or gotten anything else to work? I tried DoubleTwist, but I was having some issues with it.

Thanks,

~J

you know, i had the same prob.

but then right after reading your thread, i tried connecting my evo as "hard-drive" instead of "syncing"... and it seems to show up on "SYNC" on wmp.

i m syncing my music right now.
i believe it's working.

Default Evo / WMP sync solution.

I was having the same problem even though I already had selected 'mount as a hard-drive', and was not finding any useful guidance anywhere on the web. Finally I stumbled into a solution. In Windows Media Player, go: Tools / Options / Devices / Refresh Devices / OK. Suddenly my Evo showed up. Sync's fine now.

I did the sync but when I checked my EVO I noticed that all the music came through as "unknown artist". Anyone else have this problem? Know of a fix?

ewwww WMP? i know your setup on wmp, but give songbird a whirl, the evo is immediately recognized by it and will sync as you add things to a playlist that is set to sync to the phone. plus the organization in it is like the old school itunes (you know with the artist genre and album lists above the songs list?) very good stuff.

Default thanx

thanx for the Songbird tip. I can't wait to go home and download it for my Mac. oh man, I can't believe this is more talked about in the forums. Anything that will just keep my music like iTunes set up and sync my android will be amazing!

Winamp is far better, far faster, and simpler to use than Songbird.
