But what about the built in Mail app? It’s also cheaper (free) but I don’t know how feature rich it is. Has anyone compared these apps. What is your preference? I have three weeks to decide if I want to pay for Touchdown.
Thanks in advance.
BTW, The EVO is WAY better than the Moment! Even after the 2.1 upgrade on the Moment. And that's with 4G turned off to save the battery.

I like the HTC mail app. It has activesync, but it isn't compatible with all Exchange Server profiles and may not be compatible with Exchange 2010 (from issues I've read in the forums). The HTC mail app focuses on your inbox, and doesn't really have a lot of customization beyond that. Setting appointments is also a little bit cumbersome. Touchdown is a full-featured app with tons of settings and customizations you can do. It also works with more (if not all) Exchange server profiles. The built-in app works for my phone at my work, but didn't work for my wife's phone at her work. Touchdown did the trick for her. Touchdown also makes it easier to make appointments and otherwise use the other features of Exchange beyond just the "inbox".
