Default can sense ui be turned off and stock turned on?

Back when the Evo first came out, it was possible to turn off the Sense UI and use the stock Android. This option was deleted after the first update. Does anyone know if the option has been restored with the Froyo update?

No it can't. In order to do that you would have to Root and install a custom ROM

I'm pretty trusting that sikclown is right on this, but I do want to confirm -- is it possible to "turn off" Sense UI on the Evo anymore?

You've always been able to turn off the sense launcher, and always will be able to. They just removed the default launcher. You don't need root to reinstall it.

Thank you both very much for the answers. Nice to know that the option is out there, but glad I didn't have to waste time searching through all the menus!
