Default Un-Rooted Evo with Free Hotspot

Sorry if this is the wrong spot. I just got an Evo the other day, and when I went to use the hotspot, got and error 67. Called sprint and they said $30.00, and then he told me that there is a work around. I asked do I have to root and he said no. Can someone point me in the right direction? I don't want to pay $30, and am too chicken to root.

Thanks!!!

Probably ment you can tether via USB with an app from the market. PDANet or EasyTether.

Yup, without rooting those are the only ways to do it.

I would get it from the google code link above. The one in the market is still old and everyone I know who has used it said it was balls slow. Using pre9 and getting like 6megs down tethered.
