Currently my phone is set to lock after 3min of inactivity, however, i would like to put in my code, check my mail , and lock immediatley after...

can i put something on my home screen than will do that?

my blackberry that i have for work has that feature...i imagine it exists here, but i cannot figure it out

there are simple apps like this one...

Lock Screen Widget
that might be what you're looking for.... a simple "one click" lock... but then again, isn't just pressing the power button the same...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

yes and no, pressing the power button just brings up the slide lock but doesnt activate the security screen, which is what i need,
i will try the above, but the reviews say this is also just a screen off app..

need one that will activate the security feature right away without the 3 min delay

that was just one app i came across, i'm sure there are better ones out there... i was unaware that pressing the power button didn't activate the security screen. i don't use the security feature on my phone... i do have an app that will lock it remotely and wipe all data if i loose it but i never liked having to gesture or pin every time i wanted to use it... just a hassle for me..

3 mins and you are worried?

I have mine set to 15 mins... and that is perfect. It lets me have text conversation and other activities without unlocking it every time. 15 mins of sleep and it is locked. anyone steal my phone... would see the lockscreen.. because i am sure they would try to hide it for a while (more than 15mins) before they feel they can check it out.
