This is best flashed at a clean install. It does require a factory reset in recovery after flashing the apn.zip. A couple of post above that is a list of carrier apns. You can also do the edit to the file with a root type file browser. Reboot to recovery & do a factory reset in recovery.

if your uscc and your having issues with uscc mms DO NOT LISTEN TO THOSE GUYS the best people to talk to for this would be 2fast and cookie because they are also on the hero s variant (aka uscc). My question is... are you honestly having issues with your MMS on Uscc? im honestly questioning that. i dont thing 2fast would release anything without at least mms/sms/calling working for uscc. you might look over your apn settings but i'd suggest messaging that team (probably cookie, he might answer faster, but try to be as specific as possible)
Anyone who has problems with the default camera app (Mine crashed when detecting faces) should download an alternative. Personally, I have been using FxCamera, and it works great (http://bit.ly/GKaVT0 for you lazies). Haven't tried a replacement video camera. Also, has anyone gotten a way to change the lockscreen/pull-down menu carrier? I'm on Sprint, not US Cellular Oh, and my MMS still doesn't work in the default app, though Go SMS was a fantastic substitution. They've got a sweet launcher, too.
It would be the not pay my bill, been meaning to how ever I have not. If I feel like it in a bit I will, how ever in a way I have lost interest. Your more then welcome to ask travis why that might be. How ever doubt he says......

so does this mean ur retiring or just taking a break from the android scene?
If your threw working on this will you at least hand it down to someone willing to? Most of us appreciate your doings for this and would hate to see it go to waste.
2fast, you have my appreciation. The only daily drivers I've used came from you and your team. I hope you haven't stopped developing for this phone, but understand if you do.

That being said, Thank you for all your hard work
what he said i am using this rom as my DD and i love it, if it werent for your hard work i would not know as much as i do about this phone. when i see your reply they are frequently the first thing i read!
2fast you have my appreciation as well we are very lucky we have a talented guy like yourself even developing for this phone, so thank you for all your hard work, time, and effort.
I love this ROM and using it as a daily driver as well.
For some of the nuisances I figured out how to deal with-
For custom carrier you can drop this eri.xml link into /data, set permissions and reboot this is for sprint but you can edit it with root explorer where it says sprint near the bottom.
For the delay in screen off/lockscreen I just set window animation scale to .5x or off in developer options..

I've cleaned the nastiness, the reactions, the quoting of same and the off topic. Please read the site policy. Boundaries were breached. I've cleaned this thread. I had a mind to hand out infractions, but thought better of it. I am instructing staff to infract anyone who continues said behavior below this line. Thank you for understanding.

Can you reup the eri.xml? Also, what do you mean by "set premissions?" Thanks!
I just talked with 2fast he said he will be bringing up the site soon I don't want to quote him on timelines as he is busy with class but it will be soon...also tell your friends on the SGS 3 on us cell if you have any that I plan opening a sub forum there for SGS 3 development as I am starting to kick off work on a ROM
Ok i have googled, tried everything i could find, googled again, searched the forums etc...has anyone on boost gotten stock mms/apn settings fixed? I know i could use gosms to workaround but i wanna learn.

Have you tried speaking "open apns" (it takes a few tries) from.your voice dialer this opens the apn config on AOSP Roms so you can mamualy edit the mms file.
The apn configuration file is in /system/etc in AOSP you can manually edit the xml but as grad pointed out to me you will need to do a /data partition wipe in cwm after the edit for some reason. My thinking is to erase the pre existing database in telephony.
Pm me if you have issues after trying this I might be able to get you a flashable zip 2fast made awhile back I know I have all the files for the hero s hosted on the website as well as some others that never where.
hey i just got my evo design about two weeks ago , and since that ibe been looking for a link that works but their expire or suspended can somebody help me?

Cookie. I did use the open apns command. They wont stick unfortunately. I have that falshable zip you talk about but it didnt work. After flashing and a full wipe its still a uscc apn. I will try manually editing the apn in that .xml but from my understanding dont i have to edit some lines in the build.prop also?

Ok here is why your apns might not be sticking. Well they might be there but not being loaded. Here is what I mean. If you did all that already but have not edited the ro.cdma.home.numeric and any entry containing the MCC and MNC entries in the build.prop than that will definitely not cause the apn to load. Unlike GSM, as I understand how CDMA handles apns it.loads the first entry in the apns-conf file but these need to match the mcc/mnc of the build.prop or it will not load. So they are sticking probably just not being loaded. Change the build.prop and reboot.
x2 and work will continue now as soon as source is synced back up on my new rig Though I wasn't just busy with class but getting everything set back up, then working with tuning my swapped car with hptuners as well. Which of course still needs work though I should be able to crank out some builds quicker now
The above is my clock I settled on for now to get some work done. But a 3570k I5 quad from 3.4ghz to 4.6ghz, ssd and 16 gigs of ddr3 1600 should help a good bit
I'm just throwing it out there. But cookiefrog and 2fast I believe should start another development only thread similar to what cookiefrog done with cm9. I think its a good idea but my word is worthless.

When I can get working builds off the latest source I will make another thread. How ever I wasn't able to keep up with changes, where it is giving me a headache trying to get it to build. I may revert to the old source I believe I still have on a drive to get working builds back out though. Where I could focus on a kernel for cm then go from there on the newer source.
Not pushing for anything just wondering if you plan to add carrier recognition For the next version? The only reason I don't use your current build as a daily driver is I can't get native mms to work. As I said no biggie just wondering. Thanks!
There is the last two builds I did, where they both have egl issues and systemui will likely force close. If you screw with it enough as in hitting the force close button a good bit of times. You can then play with it but isn't to stable.
The first build with today's date has the following broke I checked: Ril, Data and Sound.
Then 2nd build with the number two in it the only thing I have found broke is: Egl and bluetooth. Keep in mind I didn't test much but some main features or glitches. I will also have another build shortly.
