Default So, I broke it. Before I go nuts, any ideas?

I followed this to root.
Root Evo Shift 2.3.3 and Higher - YouTube

I decided to go with MIUI.
MIUI.us UNITED WORLDWIDE - ROM Downloads - HTC Evo Shift 4G/Version: 2.3.30

So I choose the miui zip to install, it does it's thing, reboots, and is just stuck on the HTC screen.

Don't flog me. I've never done this before. I went with the 'for dummies' method and well, I'm a dummy.

Am I permanently ruined? Before I tuck my tail between my legs and part with a ton of money for a new phone, any help?

Did you make sure to do all the necessary wipes before flashing?

As far as I know.

What's annoying is that I can't seem to get any bootloader.

I always had problems with miui on my droid x. I could never get it to boot to recovery either.

After playing with it for the last two hours, I think the problem is that I'm just not actually achieving root. I got it to load back to stock. I run the OneClick tool after I'm downgraded back to 2.2 and it says root successful, however when I check it outside of the tool it says no root. Not sure what's happening there. Either way, phone is fine, just need to reupgrade and set it all back up to my liking again. Oh well. Worth a shot, right?

Thanks for the help.
