Signal issues

Wife's EVO Shift has signal fluctuation even with sprint airwave in the house. Signal goes from 4-5 bars to complete drop out and all points in between. I saw older posts but did not see any resolution to the problem. Does anyone have any ideas. The phone is still stock.
