Default Hero Battery

I can confirm that the Hero battery works in the Evo shift with a small modification. Theres a little notch by the connectors. You need to file or cut the notch off.

Thanks for the info i just tried it with the TP2 and Evo and it does fit in the Shift you just have to flip it over for the connectors. So it would make sense that all the HTC smartphone batteries on (sprint) would fit just one side or another depending on where the connectors are.

battery yes, charger no different connection, hero is the regular usb charger, the shift is micro usb charger. so hero chargers will not fit in the Shift

Does anyone upgrading from the Samsung Moment know if the Moment's AC & car chargers will work on the Evo Shift?

As stated above "the shift is micro usb charger" so mini usb chargers (Hero Moment) won't

That said the charger will work with one of THESE adapters

Sweet, I'll be holding onto my Hero battery then just in case I need a backup for when I'm on the go, I've actually read on several other websites that no real modification is required and that the battery works perfectly fine without any issues. It's beginning to look as if the Shift 4G is going to be my next phone, yet I'm still teetering on the Epic 4G due to the really nice 4 inch super amoled screen, but the 2.2 out of the box mixed with a better (in my opinion) keyboard may cause me to side with the EVO Shift.

Thanks, but just for clarification, the Moment takes a microUSB charger.

The Moment charger works fine with the Evo, fwiw. (We're delayed a few days from picking up our Shift, otherwise, I'd know.)

All you care in a charger is that it puts out a clean 5 volts (so, don't save money on the cheapest you can find), and anywhere in 500 mA to 1 A (1000 mA) range - and that it fits your usb connector.

My laptop puts out up to 500 mA, so I charge off of that.

I had the moment before the shift and my car charger works fine. Same connection.

Sprint just sells a generic micro usb charger for all their phones. At least the sprint store by my house does.

I dont think what the actual charger was originally intended for as long as the connection is the same. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You're right - as long as it's a clean 5 volts (so, no ultra cheap chargers) and it puts out between 500 mA (.5A) and 1000 mA (1A), you're good to go.

You can even charge it aok off of your laptop.

Original Hero battery rating was 1350 mAh - HTC - Products - HTC Hero - Specification

As HTC isn't famous for updating existing device specs, I can't personally say if that's current.
