How to flash

Please use 4ext Touch Recovery because it works great (including S-ON) and will give the best results (least potential flash problems like reboots or boot loops). Should install fine with TWRP as well.
  1. Wipe Data/System (2X)
  2. Wipe Cache/Dalvic Cache (2X)
  3. Format System, Boot, and Data
  4. Install ROM from Zip

Beats and FM radio do not function properly. Everything else works perfect.

PLEASE DO NOT REPORT PROBLEMS IN THIS THREAD UNTIL you've done a fresh install to see if that cures it. I will do my best to assist with any issues that may arise, but I am not a developer. I am new to this but am more than willing to help out where I can.

Does this have the dual core mod. The one where one core is shut off and the other is underclocked when the screen is off?

I am sorry if I confused you, but no roaming does not work. You cannot roam on Virgin Mobile. I left that in the description because this is a port from the Sprint Evo 3D rom. The options are still in the menus but they are not functional in Virgin network. All I did was take a rom from the Evo 3D that did not have functioning MMS on the Evo V and made it work. I have removed any mention of roaming from the OP.

I hear ya. I still love MeanROM too. I actually have a backup of them both and switch them whenever I feel like a change. I like the themes this rom comest with. They are both rock solid.

This I will actually have to double check on because I am not 100% sure. I do not see any difference in this rom as far as battery life and performance go when compared to MeanROM which for sure has the mod.

I installed the ROM with TWRP 2.1 and was easy as cake.
BTW, I'm a newbie on android device, the EVO V is my first android phone, and this ROM made my android experience really wonderful.
Beautiful ROM, all the way.
Thanks for the hard work, I suppose.

i just bought 4ext, seems pretty nice. but im having a very hard time choosing the best rom for me. they all have such very good extras included. but most of them seem very same. it's just so confusing! i like this rom tho. looks cool. but meanrom looks very promising. could i switch between roms like dual-booting os's ? that would be awesome.

Just make nandroid backups. That's probably the easiest way to switch between ROMs.

This seems like something I'll try out, but I have one question about this ROM. I was looking over the original post at XDA and found this listed under the June 14 changes:

Quote:
-------PERFORMANCE----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Zero compressed system and framework apks
-Added 3G speed tweaks (thanks Il Duce)
-Fixed Sprint Wimax stuff (should use sprints 4g not VM now so should work better in theory)
The part in italics about the 4G is what concerns me. I'm assuming from this that the original Dev used the leaked ICS VM build for this phone since a good portion of the changelog is dated before the EVO V was released. So my question is this: Are the 4G changes reverted back to VM settings in this ROM, or are they still set for Sprint?

Thanks!

EDIT: Or if any of you that have already installed this ROM can chime in with how your 4G is connecting, behaving, etc., that'd be awesome, too!

Just flashed this rom with twrp 1.1.1 and the boot animation froze. Thought it got stuck, but it actually just needed another minute to finish the first boot. Just a heads up to anyone who thinks their install might be problematic.

How come every time I boot the phone up it tells me Android is upgrading?

Also, is there a way to change the font? This one leaves those stupid boxes everywhere.

I was just about to post about using TWRP 1.1.1. I just have the stock rom with SU added (rooted, of course).

I was going to get 4EXT from the Play Store, but it says it requires S-OFF, so I passed on it. Although, I do see that the instructions above say it works even with S-ON. Can anyone clear that up for me? Thanks!

Thanks! I actually figured that out after I got home from work. 12 hour work shift + rooting and unlocking = a confused me!

I went ahead and got 4EXT from the Play Store and it installed fine. I'll actually install this ROM after I get some sleep.

I was just digging through the tweaks and it does not appear to have it. Now that being said, I personally do not see any difference in battery life or performance when compared to roms that have it included. You may be able to flash the zip file that was provided in Mobsters Rom thread. I am not sure if it will break anything, but just make a backup first.

It's worth noting that I don't get the 3G fluctuations like I did with the stock based ROMs.

Edit: I do periodically get zero-to-full fluctuations but not nearly as much. Could just very well be the network.

FM Radio seems to be broken on this one. Works on other roms I've tried. It starts turning FM radio on and gets to 95% then says turning off and stops responding. Only bug I've found so far.

Digging this ROM so far. My fave launcher is GoLauncher but am going to try the stock one here, though I may end up just going to GoLauncher since it's so damn customizable!

A couple of things I've noticed so far.

When I put my phone in the dock, it doesn't go to the dock interface automatically. It is set to do so. Not sure of a fix on this one....

Also, it doesn't seem to want to charge to 100%. The indicator is at 99% and holding. I would use the battery calibration app I have, but I need to hit 100% to use it properly. Anyone think that wiping battery stats via 4EXT will help?

The stock battery. But like my other posts in this thread, I should have been a bit more patient. It actually hit 100% after being at 99% for about an hour and a half. Hopefully the calibration will help with that.

As for the dock issue, I can't work on that until I get home. If push comes to shove, I'll put the dock mode icon on my home screen so I can just activate it and then dock it.

So besides that, this ROM rocks pretty hard!

Mine stays at 99% even after leaving it all night. I'm using the 4000mAh Seidio battery.

99% is good enough. Batteries lose there charge quickly or don't charge up to 100% to prevent overload.

Oh, I agree, but like I said, my Battery Calibration App *needs* for it to be 100.

You can tell it to Calibrate without being at 100%.....there's an option to disable it in the app.

I tried to remove the FM Radio apk and reinstall it to data/app to see if that would make a difference and it did the same thing. I will report this to see if others are having the issue as well with the Evo 3D.

I do not have a dock to test this with, but if it is happening with the setting checked. I will try to look into it. As I am not a developer, I will also report this to the developer to see if it is an issue they see on the Evo 3D as well.

I have noticed the battery charging only to 99% as well. I can look into that.

I tried this ROM first, after fat fingering my root attempt left me with an unlocked but factory reset phone.

I installed with TWRP2, no issues.

Have used it for two days now, and I am very pleased with everything. I love the dimmer silkscreen buttons. I use Go Launcher & SMS. I changed to the governor to Interactive and the lowest cpu clocking.

I have not found anything wrong with this ROM.

I have two wishes :

1. Be able to wallpaper the "pattern" screen lock.
2. To remove the first (slide up) screen lock, before the pattern unlock. I see no need for two.

Thanks for sharing this with us. My goal was to review this, the mean, and mobsters ROMS . But I found this one to be fine, and stopped looking. Hope support last a long time!

They're all so similar. I started with this rom and last night flashed meanrom. I prefer meanrom. I recommend at least trying the others. You may prefer the small differences in one of them

I'm sure there is an obvious answer to this but how do I make the status bar not flip to white text on a Grey background in apps? Is it possible to keep it dark?

I think you just set its transparency to be more opaque. I believe that exists in the Leedroid settings.

What kind of sound enhancements? Beats Audio works when I toggle it off and on.

its when your in your music app playing a song and go to settings and go to sound enhancer there are the no affects, dolby mobile, srs enhancement, equalizer and beats audio, when i toggle between each sound enhancement there is no clear differance but when i do the same thing on mean rom there is a clear and distingueshable differance especially when using head phones.
