Since JMZ's Evoville Sense 4 thread was closed (don't exactly know why), I think I should post the fix for Sense 4/4.1 here. Here's some proof that it DOES work. Running Sense 4.1 RLS 3 from Chubbz on the Evo 3D forum.
Anyway, here are the steps! *DO THIS BEFORE FLASHING THE ROM!*
*I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE THAT HAPPENS TO YOU, YOUR PHONE, YOUR FAMILY, OR ALL OUT NUCLEAR WAR!*
1) Open up /system/framework/framework-res.apk from the Sense 4 ROM
2) Navigate to /res/xml within it
3) Open up /system/framework/framework-res.apk from the stock VM ROM (any Sense 3.6 ROM with MMS working on VM will work)
4) Navigate to /res/xml within it
5) Drag and drop apns.xml from /res/xml in the framework-res.apk from the VM ROM to /res/xml in the framework-res.apk from the Sense 4 ROM
6) Reboot to recovery
7) Flash the Sense 4 ROM (which ever one you choose, my personal recommendation is Chubbz' Sense 4.1 ROM)
8) After flashing, mount /system in recovery (should be a mount menu in EXT4)
9) Open up ADB and execute the following commands-
Code:
adb remount system
adb push *location of the framework-res.apk* /system/framework
11) Do a FULL factory reset (wipe data/cache/dalvik-cache)
12) Reboot into your Sense 4 ROM that has MMS working! Congratulations!
*READ THIS!*
If you are running Chubbz' 4.1 RLS 3 build (NOTE- THAT EXACT BUILD!), you can skip to Step 6 and use this framework-res.apk (prebuilt by me).
Can't we just replace the sense 4 Framework.jar with the modified one before flashing the rom instead?
If you're talking about modding it and then changing the ROM.zip, I don't see why it wouldn't work. I'm used to doing things like this, and it's nice to have a clean version of the file just in case.

Don't think so. ICS based Sense stuff doesn't seem to like the ENG HBOOT, I had issues with JMZ Stock and Android Revolution HD booting on the ENG HBOOT.

Anyone know a place to upload stuff but where everyone can keep downloading it, I got the sense 4.1 fixed just to flash so incase someone doesn't know how to work with framework and stuff can get it
@heythereitsv thanks for the fix, im not running any sense 4.1, but now i know where to come, if i decide to use chubbz sense 4.1 again.
No problem! ^_^

Mediafire, I'm using dropbox for now though, I'll probably move it to mediafire sometime. Also, what build is it for?
Hey guys I'm sorry I haven't uploaded the Rom yet, my parents are going through a breakup and its been crazy I will tomorrow I heard media fire was good?

Aww I'm sorry And yes. Although don't upload the ROM with a fix baked in (unless you have permission from the dev), if you can make a flashable zip, that'd be great

It's really easy to push, all you need to do is execute these commands in ADB (I'll add these to the OP too!) Simply do these after Step 9.
Code:
adb remount system
adb push *the location of the framework-res.apk* /system/framework
If you're talking about making the fix, there is no "universal" fix for MMS. It's on a ROM by ROM basis. I'll upload the framework-res.apk's for the builds I test, but other than that, you'll have to do them on your own.

Sweet! That's awesome of him! Also, I'll try and make as many framework-res.apk's compatible with different ROMs in that time. I'll also try and learn to make a flashable zip- I've been meaning to make a few :P

The reaso why I ask for a flashable zip is because the directions are confusing to me. like am I doing all of this from a computer or from inside the sense 4 rom? I just dont fully get it.

After you reboot into recovery, select 'mounts and storage' from the 4EXT menu, mount /system, and then move over to your computer (with your phone connected), open up ADB (same program you used when you unlocked the bootloader and obtained root) and execute those commands. As for the framework-res part (steps 1-6), that's from your computer.

So jmz will be re-uploading his rom with MMS fixed?

Idk... personally, I'd use one of the other builds. JMZ hasn't really updated Evoville much... he's much more focused on CM10, I think.

Recovery? HBOOT? S-OFF or S-ON?
If you're on HBOOT 1.04, flash a different one (JuopunutBear works), or use another kernel, it should fix the issues. Also, what do you mean no ROM will boot? And the HTC splash or the boot logo of the ROM?
Thanks, but one more question.
Are we getting a flash able zip?
The procedure in order to get mms working looks a bit complicated. (x
As I stated earlier, the fix is on a ROM by ROM basis, so you have to do this with each individual ROM's framework-res.apk. I did Chubbz's ROM's in the OP, so you can just use that one for Chubbz's. So for example, I can't use the one I used to fix MMS on Chubbz's ROM on Tribulattifather's ROM.

After about 4 hours I got it all sorted out via the RUU. I was using 4EXT, HBOOT 1.04 and s-off.

Chubbz's build doesn't like to boot on HBOOT 1.04 for me, apparently people have gotten it working with a different kernel though. You didn't have to go through the trouble of RUU'ing and redoing the whole root + S-OFF process

Here is the command I used "adb push C:\Users\Anonymous\Desktop\EVO 3d RomS /system/framework*
Is the framework-res.apk in your EVO 3d RomS folder? Because if it is, the correct syntax would be "C:\Users\Anonymous\Desktop\EVO 3d RomS\framework-res.apk" /system/framework. Yes, the quotes are essential, since there's a space in your filepath.
look right?

Here's what I did and didn't have to use a computer. I unzipped the Rom, replaced the file, and rezipped.
I did all of this through es file manager.
I am currently using this Rom on hboot 1.04, with the kernel that is on the Rom.
Also to, I used TWRP.
If you do this method mentioned, DO NOT UPLOAD for others to use without asking the dev for permission.
^This will also work. I do recommend using the method in the OP, it allows you to have a clean version of the original ROM in case you swap out the wrong file or accidentally screw it up. And I cannot stress this enough- don't upload the fixed ROM (as a whole) without asking the original dev for permission!!!
Cool maybe will try again later, for now I'm liking this latest mobster. Is there anyway to get rid of the launcher on chubbz 4.1? I would rather have plain stock 4.1

Get rid of the Sense launcher? I believe the AROMA installer that Chubbz included includes an AOSP launcher option.

I get this message after entering the cmd. Is this a success?

Update: After step 11 no boot animation anymore. Also, no sms or mms??
Yup! And yeah, there won't be a boot animation, looking into that. And the SMS shouldn't even be touched while the MMS works fine... can you copy paste the settings from the MMS connection settings? (go into Messages, hit menu, hit settings, hit MMS settings, and hit Connection settings)
TBH though, it seems like a bad flash or a bad ROM if your SMS is broken...

LOL found the issue shortly after that post..my plan was up right before I flashed No wonder I couldn't send sms, derp
Have you tried throwing in a new boot animation via a file explorer? Will try and update post
Update: Service back on, however MMS still not coming through after the fix

Wrong settings. If you did the fix correctly (make sure you're using the apns.xml from a Sense 3.6 ROM for Virgin Mobile!), it should show the settings in the OP. These settings are for Sprint.

That seems like something related to your service... might just be a fluke, give it a couple of days and give VM a call if it doesn't clear up.

I am having a difficult time snagging down how to create and resign the framework-res.apk. I have found a really sweet looking Rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1925799 . I would like to fix the file to get mms kickin.
If anyone likes this Rom as well and has the ability to tweek the file, could you post the file (framework, not the Rom zip)or e-mail it to me?
Thanks in advance for whomever does!

That looks like a good ROM! Can't test right now though, I'm busy with school and I need my phone up and running But you don't need to deal with signing at all. Just drag and drop the apns.xml from 7-zip/WinRAR/other .zip file manager. Remember to do a factory reset afterwards! This is quite important ^_^

Hmm, maybe I pushed the wrong file. You have to wipe data, cache, and dalvik right?

Yup. If you pushed the right one without wiping them, it bootloops (on Chubbz's ROM at least, not sure about others). Make sure you're pushing the right one!
Anyone ever use ninjamorph? You can modify apk's without messing with the permissions (so they say). Anyone ever use it? I've read of some folks using it to theme roms. I am trying to find a way to do the main idea in the steps w/o involving a computer. (my wife thinks I spend too much time on it as is...maybe I just need to format and replace her. That could be the issue, lol).

Lol, if you figure out a way to flash a new wife make sure I'm the first to know

Haven't heard of it. Heard of Metamorph, but that was way back in the Froyo days, before CM7 and its wonderful theming engine.

Yup. Did you do a format all partitions (except SD) before flashing the ROM? Also, what tweaks did you select?
