Default [ROM] MidnightRom: Senseless

Senseless ROM w/ Max Battery Life, overclocking, and more!

I present to you all MidnightRomS!

This ROM is like the base MidnightRom, which consists of the best tweaks, modifications, and optimizations to make the fastest, most stable rooted stock ROM out there, but without sense, all the crap that's added along with it, and the absolute best battery life for this phone!

Featuring Nova Launcher AND MAC Kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1866375)
Before installing this ROM, I HIGHLY suggest you take a look at this thread do everything it says. The "Fix everything by turning your phone into an Evo 3d" thread

MidnightRom:S Version 1.2.2 Download Here! (Goo.im Downloads - Downloading MidnightRomS122.zip)
Mirror (MidnightRomS122.zip | by xthedakmanx for EVO 3D)

Playstation Mobile (psm.apk | by xthedakmanx for EVO 3D)

The included goomanager app automatically notifies you when there is a new ROM update! It uses virtually no memory at all, and updates can be downloaded directly from within the app!

IF COMING FROM THE SENSE VERSION, YOU MUST PERFORM A FULL WIPE BEFORE INSTALLING THIS ROM
See this video for a quick how to (For S-OFF users)Flashing MidnightRomS - YouTube (Flashing MidnightRomS - YouTube)

Notes:
-To edit the Lockscreen Shortcuts, Simply use the "LockScreen Shortcuts" app
-The Personalize app had to be left in so live wallpapers could be chosen. The scenes picker does absolutely nothing. Just ignore this app.

If you do not have S-OFF, you WILL HAVE TO flash the boot.img file in fastboot at each update, as the kernel is almost always updated with each new version of MNR. Not doing this will cause issues with wifi, 4g, bluetooth, and lots of other things. For more information on this, please see Contact Support ... p?f=11&t=6 (Contact Support)

First boot will take a few minutes

If you have any problems, questions, suggestions, etc, do not be afraid to ask!! =]

Notice!
Sprint has released some phone updates (as of this posting, which is 11/21/2012), including software and firmware updates. It's highly recommended that, along with this rom (which has the other sprint updates integrated) that you also update your phone's firmware.
To do so, simply download this
Goo.im Downloads - Downloading PG86IMG.zip
Put it in the root of your sd card (Do not extract anything from this. Just download and put it straight on there)
Power off your phone, hold the power button and the volume down button at the same time, and it should do the rest! Just accept the update and you'll be good to go!

Thank you!!! Goodbye sense! I've been running MNR for months now and just recently decided to flash a senseless rom but it just isn't the same in terms of speed and battery life. So now I can go back to my first true love...MNR. Thank you for this.

I currently have your original midnight rom, can I NOT format system if I want to flash this? I have been just wiping cache and dalvik cache when flashing a new version of the midnight rom.

I recommend backing up your apps with titanium backup, wiping everything, then flashing MNR:S if you're coming from the sense version

Didn't know anyone used it. Added it back.

*edit*

Also, just a FYI for everyone, I've been using this rom for a while, testing it and working out the bugs. On average I would get about 18-20 hours out of the phone with default settings, moderate usage.

I'm gone from here for less than 24 hours and you go and bring up another rom... wth??? lol... dakman, you and Mobz are just beasts when it comes to this phone!!

Thanks, gonna try it out later. This is just a suggestion, alot of folks like sense, may wanna make a seperate file so they can reinstall some of the sense stuff back. Just an idea. Like a file titled, "removed bloatware" or something.

I had a problem. After flashing, all I had was the notifications above - 3g, battery, etc. The entire screen below was black. I pulled the battery, rebooted into recovery, and reflashed 1.3.2. Am downloading 1.3.3 now.

I'm pretty sure you should be over at his other Roms thread. This has to do with his first version on his senseless ROM.

Which is what I was reporting the problem with: the Senseless version. Good thing I had the older version still on the phone.

Edit: So is anyone else having any problems?

I guess I could redownload and try again, but I'd rather wait to hear if anyone else has a problem or not.

Just flashed this rom and got the same. Fortunately I have a Playstore notification, once I got into Playstore, I can press "home" to the launcher. That's weird.

Granted, I am coming from MNR and I didn't do a full wipe.

Lol that would be why. A full wipe is NEEDED for everything to work right when your coming from the sense version

If screen is off, and I press the power button to wake it up. The same thing happens, status bar with black screen. I will have to switch back to the MNR for the time being... ;(

So its not just me. Thanks.

For the time being, I'm using 1.3.3 with Sense, although I'm definitely interested in the stripped down Senseless ultra long battery version. Thanks!

Data and boot as well. If you have 4ext wipe all partitions except sd card.

I've flashed this rom about 5 times in the past week testing it with 0 issues

So does the wii remote work with this rom? Also, is this rom built from source or what? I'm still new to how the HTC roms work.

It's built from the stock rom that comes with the phone, with lots of improvements, and stripped of sense

Do you have any background apps running?
Try flashing again.

Just to fully confirm with everyone, I've made a "how to" video on flashing this, from start to finish, using 4EXT with S-OFF, the zip file already on the sd card, and from a fresh previous flash.

Thanks for the video but looking at your phone after the first boot is just like mine. The animations(going to app drawer, swiping left or right on home screen or scrolling up and down in settings) are not as smooth as your midnight rom. I thought its only the nova launcher but I use that on my tablet too and its buttery smooth. Vsync or hardware acceleration is probably off a little.

For some reason I am having an issue with the system settings. Some settings do not work. I get nothing when I try to set my phone ringtone and my notification sound. Nothing comes up. When I try to set the notification sound through the message apps settings I get a force close. I wiped everything before flashing and even wiped cache and dalvik cache again after flashing. Any suggestions?

Gave it a shot, I've grown accustomed to Sense. Back to 1.3.3. Really hope you continue development on it. Hope for Buttery Smooth implementation and more Jelly Bean. Thank you for all the hard work!

People who have MNRS installed and want a diff theme, what do you think of a slightly modified version of this?

As long as it looks a bit AOSP then IDC. Also I am on MobstersROM and he uses a AOSP Dialer/Contacts. Anyway it's possible to use that on your from?

Also I have no flashed this from yet. Just looking for a new NONSense ROM to use.
