finaly got kies to update my samsung exhibit. it said not supported or would stay on the connecting page. here is the fix


1.) download the firmware from SamMobile Firmware Page
2.) then follow the steps for returning to stock. make sure you uninstal then instal the drivers from samsung.com
3.) finally plug in your phone with usb debugging on. start kies wait a while for it to connect then it will prompt you to update the firmware. start it then done. hope i helped

I've been having this issue all weekend long. Attempted many different fixes, but still no such luck. Thanks for posting, but this fix didn't work for me unfortunately.
