Okay, I'm a noob at all this. I have rooted my phone and downloaded everything iv'e needed. I just installed the custom red theme and love it. I wanted to download the red gingerbread keyboard apk to go with this theme.

I downloaded it, installed it with astro file manager, and went to settings and put the checkbox next to the GINGERBREAD KEYBOARD.

when i go to send a text message, it isn't using the gingerbread keyboard. it's using the default keyboard.

I used JT'superclean .9 before and it changed my keyboard a little bit from standard. That is the keyboard still showing up. Not sure if the gingerbread is getting blocked somewhere, or if I missed a step?

anyone know how to get the red gingerbread keyboard working?

Also, another different issue: My facebook contacts won't sync up. I am using LauncherPro and I know this is an issue with Touchwiz, i never deleted touchwiz, and i still use it from time to time? is there anyway to get facebook to sync up with launcher pro? even when i boot in to touchwiz and use the TWlauncher, it still won't sync. any ideas?

it seems a few people have had issues with the modded gb kb..i havent tried it, but i think it had to be moved into system/app or something like that

ok thank you, how do i get it to the system/apps folder?

would i use astro for this, or would i put the .APK file directly in to this folder when i move it to my sdcard?

you need to use root explorer or a similar program...or push it with adb

i used astro file manager, and i copied the keyboard.apk from the sdcard, and it copied

but when i go to system/app it won't give me the option to paste...

i dont believe astro has superuser permission to move stuff into system/app...you need a different program

i mean im not 100% on this keyboard if thats the way to do it...id check the op again for any instructions

wait nevermind, i think your issue is that you havent set the gingerbread keyboard as your default...long press in a text box, select input method...check gb kb

wow, i am the biggest noob ever. you are 100 percent correct. i set it up in my settings menu, but never did the long press.

the sad thing is, i've done this before! not sure how i forgot.. thank you!



not using my brain today, i should probably stay indoors and not go to work before i screw something up, haha THANK YOU!
