I did the same thing and so far couldn't be happier. I'd swear the CPO runs better then my original one... for now. Time will tell.

Mine also failed the first time and now when i try to check for new updates it says their aren't any new updates.. wtf

THAT is me, stock- the pathetic 2.1 update did fine- this failed multiple times. I tried to flash from the Samsung website and it BRICKED THE PHONE .

I had talked to VZW 8-10 times who finally referred me to SS. SS is going to do a factoru re flash - I sent it this morning and SS covered shipping and everything else. VZW has been very inept on this.

FYI to everyone, I had the update fail 3 times on my first phone. When it finally went through, I got the same com.google.apps force close, PLUS I got a phone.android (I think) error. After this, only about 25% of my incoming calls actually rang, the rest would go to voicemail without telling me I had a missed call.

So I went into one Verizon store and was told I couldn't even speak to someone until I'd done 2 factory resets and that I couldn't do it there because my battery was low (I guess letting me borrow a charger would have inconvenienced them). I finally tried a different store and they shipped me a new handset.

I tried it yesterday and it did the EXACT same thing. It downloads the update, restarts, gets about 1/3 of the way through the unpackaging little droid guy screen and freezes there for about 15 minutes before rebooting in 2.1 again.

I've had it. I went to the store AGAIN today and they couldn't get the update to go through either. They wanted to send me another Fascinate, but I've had it. I refused and I'm awaiting shipment tomorrow of my new Droid X.
