Default 120 degree temp

I've had my fascinate for about a week, and when i use google maps with Gps for half an hour, my battery temp widget shows that temp at 120 degrees, If i make a call then it actually hurts to put the screen to my face. Is this normal?
This phone is actually a replacement phone, the last one had some other issues.
Thanks in advance!

I can feel my phone is warmer, never used a battery temp widget. But that temp is most likely about average, because the case is warm. Even with the Otto box cover. (which probably makes it worse. no ventilation to phone)
