Default Telus root anyone? i got this. (update.zip inside :) )

Took me about 25m to figure out wtf I was doing in notepad, and these are the beautiful results.

ALSO! Attatchment fail over here on android forums, here is the link to my OP on XDA <_<

Root for your TELUS fascinate! - xda-developers

DONE.

All it took was a quick script rewrite in notepad. and it SHOULD work with both Canadian galaxies

I don't know who packaged this, but my quick edit means simple root.

Hold VOL + & - + Power for recovery
Install attatched update.zip
Cheer, because you have the first rooted (REPORTED!) Galaxy S Fascinate on telus

And, PM me props. that would be coo'

Anyway, File and a screenshot. Pretty simple guys

About damn time I found a way to give back to the community.

[edit] Shell reports su now, just needed to request it. Everything works.

Now we just need a real developer to find a working recovery and write some roms

They call it the fascinate and there is no telus galaxy s forum.

I know it's a different model, but a google search is more likely to get them here than

"Telus SGH t959d root"

I agree I got warned about posting fascinate questions in the android lounge where its says to hang out and ask questions..so if I get warned for that then there shouldn't be posts about other phones in a specific phone forum..but just my opinion not worth to much haha

This is the Samsung Fascinate forum and the question was about a Samsung Fascinate.

The forum does not specify weather it is a Verizon Fascinate or a Telus Fascinate, so
where is the problem?

a few things

1. this is CLEARLY a forum for the Verizon Fascinate which is a much different phone than the Telus Fascinate which is just the TMobile Vibrant repackaged for our friends to the North (dont know why Telus would be stupid and cause the confusion that way)

2. as such there are significant differences between the two phones, and if people start posting stuff in here for a DIFFERENT phone its guaranteed to cause confusion and the possibility of someone not paying enough attention and flashing the wrong thing.

3. at best this should be in the vibrant forum, or better the telus fascinate should have its own forum...nothing its compatible between the two "fascinates". our verizon fascinate forum shouldnt be co-opted by another phone

The Telus fascinate isnt even a repackaged vibrant. Its appears to be more similar to our Fascinate only a gsm variant. I posted in suggestions and feedback to have a new forum created for it in order to avoid some of this confusion.

fair enough, the internal storage made me think of it as a vibrant and well the gsm.

in any event thanks OMJ

i wasnt trying to sound like a jerk, just thought that information for a phone other than the verizon fascinate in this forum could lead to issues discussing two different phones at the same time.

if you guys add a subforum for it maybe it could be called either telus fascinate or samsung fascinate 3G+ to avoid confusion in navigation

It's a T-Mobile Vibrant with Standard HSDPA instead of AWS.

Hence the D

I dubbed it the Fascibrant.
