Tried to install on a Boost Force I bought in May. Doesn't work. Phone is encrypted for work (no way to unencrypt, however in FTM shouldnt effect this).

Ran it, rebooted into FTM, does not allow to install files.

Running Android 4.0.4 (ICS), SW version N9100V1.0.0B09, Kernel Version 3.0.8-perf-svn19197 ZTE-kernel@Zdroid-SMT, HW version c7wa, Baseband version n9100b01

Tried to install SuperSU through gplay, installed, but when attempting to run it says can't find binary and cannot install binary, "this is a problem", click ok, it shuts down.

Any ideas of what I can do to get this to work, really want this rooted.

maybe re-dl avid file or reset phone prior. d/k
What do you mean it's incrypted? with what?

Saw this video posted in the Avid forum, the only real different is that you hold the up volume and power on the Force. Dont search for the you tube vid on the force cause Rueben crapped up that video.

I'm using Avast for the firewall, so I can control (hopefully) what apps are sending data. Now I am learning which apps I can "freeze" or completely uninstall to control data flow. Installed Titanium backup for that part.

Privacy is my main concern, thus data control. That's the reason I've waited so long to get an android phone. It is annoying to see all the info apps want to collect & send out to the world. grrrrrrr

Mickeysoft really tweaked me off with windoze 8. It took me a bit to figure out I can log in locally, rather than the online account login that mickeysoft attempted to fool me into using. >

LOL, Boot into android then do what AMOCO said. If you can't figure out how to get out of FTM mode just pull the battery.
Lots of entertainment around here.

You may want to use a Linux system to root. You can run a basic debian system off a flash drive

same way youd do it in windows 7, or vista, or xp, or 2000... though sadly i dont know if its possible on windows 98, sorry guys lol

the only difference may be that youd have to figure out how to manually force the drivers for windows 8 but i am pretty sure windows 8 can actually find the right drivers for you instead of having to battle to get it to connect. what problem are you having with it maybe that will help get you an answer that isnt so sarcastic and unhelpful lol

This might be a bit funny to every one else out there and it is fine to laugh, but does it have to be downloaded straight to the computer or can I download it to my phone and transfer it over. I'm rooting my Force to be a hot spot for my self(above average) and techno lost family. Any advice you may have would be nice. Thank you Edwardius

Yeah I took a look at both of those threads, seems as though there is room for improvement on both ends but hey if this was a perfect world and everything was tip top then there would be no need for awesome ppl like you and the rest of the community....I'll give something a shot, I do have to repair my digitizer though cause I dropped the phone on my tile floor and well you know the rest of that one. Found a digitizer for 20 bucks so hopefully I can repair that. I did run your ROM on my warp and must say it was some good work so I'm anxious to see how you handled the force!l

Default Boost ZTE Force Recovery guide!

Hello all!

First...Thank you for this site and your great work!

I am a complete Android newbie (musician in real life) and was able to Root my boost mobile ZTE Force (the method in this thread) to use Pdanet+

Pdanet does not appear to be diding data usage

I have found info to stop writing to the "reporting file" that's uploaded by to phone to Boost. I want to "uncheck" the permission to write to the file

I want to make a recovery setup before I do ANYTHING. I have SuperSU

Could you point me to the SuperSU guides? I don't want to brick anything!

Merry Christmas! Peace OT
