8. I adopted my pug girl when I was 19, and laughed/complained about how much they snore. Eight years later: I can't sleep in motels or on vacations anymore - I need pug snoring to sleep
9. I've never been outside the US, but would like to slowly but surely travel the whole world were finances to make it possible
10. My shoulders dislocate at random - and I relocate them myself

...that hit home. So here we go

1. My father left when I was 7 and I haven't spoken to him in over two decades.
2. #1 has affected me greatly, and that is why my son is so important to me, you only get one daddy. He is a daddy's boy
3. I am very happily married to the mother of my son who also gave me two wonderful step-sons (and I accept that I will never be their daddy) that I love very much.
4. I was in the Army Reserves. I was never activated (just did the weekend thing), so I usually don't mention I was in. It makes me feel awkward when people say thanks. Those thanks belong with the people that put themselves in harms way. I never had to contemplate facing the elephant.
5. My first real job was a sysadmin at age twenty
6. I got my undergraduate and MBA in Finance and Economics
7. My first programming job was in RPG (yes, the language) for a very large manufacturing company (even though this wasn't the language I was hired for)
8. The company I worked (#7) for sent me to Paris twice for 8 days each just to go do dinner for one evening each time.
9. The job in #7 was outsourced.
10. I have zero IT education

OK, now I have to go back through the thread and thank some folks that touched a nerve (didn't know if it would mess up multi-quote).
