Default Feedback on Extended Battery for G1

Hey I got Extended battery for G1 with 1600mah. Though this battery is same in size but I am getting better output than the one got with device. Original battery that I got with the G1 was not even lasting for 3 hrs with internet surfing, e-mail etc but now I can do the same with 4-5 hrs of usage time. http://www.fommy.com/view-full-page.asp?skuno=81931

I saw you post in another thread and I thought you were just kidding, that's pretty slick how they pack more power into the same case. Any idea from the engineers out there how they do that? And why not just include this type of cell in our original device?

They get more power in the same space by "charging" more for it... lol. Its a cost issue. In time the cost will go down and batterie tech will get better. Though with gas prices and what not there is a lot of investment in new more efficient batteries for the use of these devices and even cars.

exactly ... I agree on your point drustvold. Now one more interesting point that they have 2300 mah battery for G1 http://www.fommy.com/view-full-page.asp?skuno=82277 which comes with a separate door while their 1600 mah fits the device as it is. Now biggest question is why can't T-mobile or HCT think about providing better batteries???

I ordered the 1600mah battery for my G1 from fommy.com and was sooo excited to check it I ripped open the package and tore the hard case off my G1 (being careful not to fubar my decalgirl skin of course) and put the battery in. Nada.... ok so let me hook up the charger. Nada... no charging light won't power on nothing. OK well maybe it is really dead so I let it sit like 45 min. Still nothing.
So the next day I call up fommy cust serv and explain what happens and I get the usual did you put it in right, what kind of charger are you using questions and the guy puts me on hold, then comes back on and tells me I need to charge the battery a minimun of 3-4hrs to get it to work and overnight if I want to use it. So that night I charge it all night still nothing. I ended up sending it back to fommy and am waiting for them to exchange it.

I think that most of the feedback on the "great" performance of the 4u battery are posted by 4u sellers... . Fommy is the only one selling it, if this battery was a real one ebay/amazon would be full of it due to the high request.

Default fommy 1600 mah battery

A also just bought the battery and it too was dead upon arrival. I have emailed them and asked for them to send me a new one that works, but have not heard back from them. Thank goodness I used paypal, so I filed a dispute and will try and get my money back from paypal, as they are very good about things like this.

Default Smart Phone Batteries

All smart phones consume batteries at a faster rate than a regular phone. In windows based smart phones you can minimize the usage of the battery by ending the program running in the background of the phone. HTC Touch extended batteries are available on websites and retail stores. Carrying a HTC Hero car charger will help in keeping the phone charged. You can also use a HTC Hero travel charger cord for USB data connection.
