so i ordered my new mirror screen cover and it finally came in from hong kong. it was only $4 and the quality is perfect. very easy to install and looks amazing. highly recommended product. it was purchased from ebay. sorry bout the horrible pics, but the vid has a nice shot......
it even looks better on white!!! damn now i wish i had white. the quality is great. i mean i ordered like 7 of these things just in case i need em, plus theyre priced really good. but its been more than a week and im still happy with this product!!!
What are they like in daylight with brightness set to lowest?
its kinda hard to see in the sunlight when brightness set to low. but i mean for less than $5 its way worth it. i say buy the 2 pack and if you dont like it sell the other cover for $5 to get your money back.............craigslist. lol

Get ready to laugh....
So as mentioned I got the screen protectors.
Pros: Looks very cool. Super slick, like the factory protector, but much thicker. I think if something hit it, or I even used a knife point on the screen it would be protected. It is a really thick plastic, and feels durable. I love the mirror finish of the device screen now. Bling, but not to much. Perfect.
Cons: I did have to jack up my brightness, which shortens battery life somewhat. It has a slight moray rainbow pattern. Very easy to look past but took a bit of understanding as to why it existed. The aforementioned thickness makes the plastic not flush with the screen. Not a dealbreaker in any stretch.
Me: I got the 2 pack. Hilarious Engrish on the pack. The package has a small card for pushing out air bubbles and a small cloth for cleaning prior to placing the film down. The film is sandwiched between 2 throwaway plastic layers, one to protect the shiny silver and the other to protect the adhesive (safe for your device) side. I actually got the shiny side to stick to my phone via a static like stick. I pulled away the film on the other side and had this very tacky not so shiny side collecting all my fingerprints. It was then I realized that I had it applied reverse. Oh am I glad I got 2. So enjoy my mistake and hopefully you won't make it too. (I laughed, after I realized my mistake. Hopefully you enjoy it.)
Air Bubbles: I took my time and applied it really slowly and still had a few. I used a real credit card and slowly worked them out, and then about 24 hours later the slight "circle" where the bubble had been disappeared. Be aware that this was a bit annoying until it did, but patience paid off.

The Air bubbles are clearly the user's application/installation. As you do more I could see having less/none. And as I said if you looked at my phone now you would not see any.
I just noticed that right now the mirror screen saver has a deal going where you buy one you get one free. Just click on the link above that SecretAsianMan posted and its simple. They only cost a dollar plus shipping and handling. Just wanted to pass that on to ya all.

Wow! These things ship fast and the pics and vids do not do them justice. They are everybit as good as Secret says they are. Thanks Secret for the heads up on this. I am really loving it. In fact...I just ordered more so I have extras.

I would like to know if they make non mirrored ones too? I had a friend with a G1 ask. They like the slick feel and the fact it doesn't look like I have a shield (no air bubbles.)
I didn't have to up my brightness any. They really do work great and look sweet. Also, don't feel bad Skeptic, I messed my first one up also. Lol!
Ah, even on low brightness while outdoors? With my current user habit, i tend to set my power management app on low battery setting, lowering my brightness significantly. That's why i'm worried the reflective surface may be too much for me.
I will check it out outside today Solider and let you know. I honestly haven't done that yet after shattering my first G1 dropping it out of cargo hold of plane we were unloading. Lol! As soon as I get a chance I will post back today what I find.

I installed a harder plastic case for a friend on their G1, they like it cause they don't need the pouch anymore. I don't like silicone as much cause not as easy to slide in and out of my pocket.
I like silicone cases but the one for the G1 doesn't cover the screen part so the part you are REALLY trying to protect is still exposed.
I've seen a few cases and when on the phone they all made it to damn big so I went with the Invisa shield full body protection.
So far I like it, I may take it bask and have a couple of the pieces replaced as she applied them crooked. I'm kinda anal so it bugs me.

yea that invisishield is really effective, but it looks kinda tacky on the phone. but it does give the best protection. im thinking bout rubber dipping my phone, or rubber painting the whole phone except for the screen and buttons. then it would be super durable like those nextel phones.

I have to report that based on my Jan 5th review mine didn't last 1 month. I took it off today. The top edge began to fray apart.
The thickness of this protector is so nice and thick it really does a great job protecting the screen. The action we all do a lot with the Android OS is to open the notification bar/window pulldown. Which is where my wear and tear existed.
Apparently your finger naturally starts slightly above the screen in the swipe motion and after a month of pulldowns (figure at least 5-15 a day minimum) the slightly thicker protector was really showing its wear and tear.
I am going to look for the thinner all clear factory style one. That one worked really well for more than a few months. Any links anyone?
Well, for the price it was worth the risk. It's kind of cool, but outdoors and in my car it's not too good. I peeled it off... but may put the second one on my son's gameboy...
I dont want to sound rude but alot of people seem to not know how to take close up pictures using thier digital camera's ( or older ones...whatevs) So i looked it up and found a site that shows you how. In short, you choose this mode
and get close to what you want to take a picture of and snap! End result?
:-D

Isn't this a tad off topic for this thread? I don't even see someone talking about it. Though I agree it is a valuable piece of info to know about. And certainly for taking good closeup shots of Android hardware.

they are rubbish during daylight. i was just outside now and was a little sunny, i could now see a single thing on my screen. do not get it, waste of money. Very poor visibility in the light, other than that its fine.
On my HTC DESIRE
