Lightbulb G1 Car Dock

I'm sure I'm not the only one but I'd really like to see a real Car Dock for this device. Something similar to the iPod Car Dock that can fit in the cup holder and the phone just sits in it. It'd be ideal to listen to music, take a phone call and possibly get turn by turn directions (via 3rd party application) on Google Maps. Maybe a Car Dock + Software package? One can only hope!

yeah voice dialing has proven to be more of a pain for me, and when I say "a command" I typically have to repeat it 3 times and then I am told, "sorry, no match found." LOL

Agree 100% - especially since there are plenty of apps that are intended to be of use while in the car.

How about a head strap that holds your G1 on your head and in front of your face? Hahahaahah like a monkey on a treadmill chasing a banana kinda thing hehe. I'm joking of course...

HUD projection. Like one of the European car makers tried with dashboard things. Project the screen onto the windshield.

Ok, that's a little over the top and doesn't really help too many things.

You'd have to permanently remove the little dust cover thingy to make a dock work. Judging by the amount of crap that collected in the usb port of my Dash, that would suck.

you woudn't have to remove the cover, the dock would just have to have a cavity or hole to alow it. Problem solved.

What keeps the cover lined up with the cavity and not blocking the usb port as you lower the phone into the dock?

Chevy / GM has had HUDs as an option on a number of their vehicles for a few years now
