Hi all, just got my first Dream and last night I was trying to root it. It's a Canadian Rogers stock dream (hard reset from old owner).

Last night, I followed Cyanogen's guide (post 911 rooting) to the letter.
I get to step: 'flash_image recovery /data/local/recovery.img' and I receive a '#'.

I looked up a way to double check if the rooting worked on this page: http://androidforums...your-phone.html and when i type 'su' i get denied... (although 'cd /data/app-private' does not say denied or anything)

I guess this means I somehow fudged the rooting process? If so, can I just start from the beginning with Cyanogen's guide or do I need to do something else (would a hard reset clean all files i poked around in?)

I'm pretty much new at this and any help would be appreciate. If you need any more info let me know.

Boot into recovery, do you have / see Amon_Ra's Recovery?

If so, congrats, you have rooted your phone. Make sure you have the latest radio tho

aha ok thanks man; it says

Build : RA-dream-v1.7.OR

seems like Amon Ra is on -> i guess it worked fine then?
As far as radio goes i have 3.22.26.17 so I don't need to flash a radio image correct?

Awesome thanks for the help man. Could you help me with one last thing?
As far as installing danger spl, cyanogen mod wiki says 'flashing radio (using amon ra)'. The file downloaded is a .img file not a zip so i cant flash from fastboot. Any suggstions?

Radio should be zipfile (for example mine is "G1-radio-2_22_23_02.zip"), img file is recovery - see forum:
