Two annoyances so far (in an otherwise positive experience)
Had the phone a week or so and mostly think it's great. Forums are for problems though, so here goes.
1. While using Google Reader in the browser, when I go to a feed, half the time when it loads I end up all the way at the bottom of the page and have to scroll back up to see the 15 Unread Messages or however many. I think this happens on feeds that I have previously visited and done "Mark All As Read", and the browser is trying to be smart and remember my previous page position, except it ends up being stupid by accident. Has anyone else experienced this?
2. A couple times I have lost 3G connection and had to turn the phone on and off (this morning I had to do it three times) in order to get any data connection at all. That's been really inconvenient. Has anyone else experienced this? Do you think it has to do with the phone or the nascent 3G network?

I had your first problem on my iPhone quite often, but not on the G1 thus far.
And your second problem, well, a LOT of us are seeing that one. Mine has been great since last night around 6, but for about 3 days I had a ton of problems, and yesterday morning data was unusable. Not now though, knock on wood.

Check your coverage on the T-Mobile Website, you may be in a low 3G area.

Well, all sorts of environmental factors are possibly involved.
I know people hate hearing this, but it's a wireless signal. They are not nearly as reliable as a physical connection. It's literally a radio signal. How often have you had the radio on, and for no reason, the signal drops momentarily? Or entirely? How often have you had to flip the antenna around just to get the signal to work? I remember back in the day it would frustrate the hell out of me. I'd turn the radio off, not do anything to the radio or the antenna, and then next time I turned it on: static. I breath on the dial, and then the signals back.
My grandfather's house is a dead zone. Wireless signals can't penetrate it for some reason. Unless you have the phone leaning against the glass of one of the windows in the dinning room. When I lived there I would have to take a call and run quickly through the kitchen and out the back door so I could get outside (where the signal is great) before the call got droped.
In my last apartment my phone only got a decent signal on the corner of my bed, and then sometimes on the couch in the living room. After some new neighbors moved in, my phone stopped working at all.
With so many different wireless devices, it doesn't surprise me that signals go in and out. Even though they're designed not to, I'm pretty sure different wireless signals can interfere with each other. It certainly seems that way.
HELL, my TV and my microwave used to be in the same room (studio apartment) and whenever I microwaved food, the picture and sound on the TV would get distorted or the signal would drop altogether...and they were 10 feet away from each other.
Luckily internet access on my phone is a luxury, not a necessity, and truthfully if you're looking for a stable internet connection, a wired cable connection is about as solid as you're going to get for the time being.

Slow your roll there man. This problem being described is not a "wireless signal" problem. It's a legit issue with both 2G and 3G data access, and a LOT of us are experiencing it. If you aren't consider yourself lucky.

Well, if that's the case, take your phone down to the nearest T-Mobile authorized dealer and ask for a replacement.
If internet access is a necessity, then I'd say invest in a solid cable internet connection at home. Or look at the wireless card options (the sprint cards seem to be the best) for your laptop. If it's that important for work, sounds like you're going to be on it a lot...with a small phone screen you're going to be suffering eyestrain most definitely.

I didn't mean to imply that people didn't have legit issues. Just pointing out that wireless hasn't caught up to the stability of a wired connection just yet.
The connection issue is a network data issue (voice calls go through just fine), not a handset issue. Or so it seems. And I do have a hard-wired Internet connection. I have my G1 for an entertainment/media device to replace my iPhone. For business I use a BlackBerry.
Also, sorry to come off like a jerk. That wasn't my intention.
The point is not that 3G coverage "should" be better. It's that it shouldn't take human intervention (power cycling phone, manually reconnecting to TMobile network) to get it to work when it's *able* to work but the code is to crappy to realize it.
I have not had any problems with the connection to T-mobil, but quite a few places I use the phone have Wifi, and I sometimes have to turn off the Wifi and then turn it back on to get it to work.
